Let's hear it.
What categories would you like to see added? Dropped?

I think a hidden poll would be better. The temptation to look at the standings first could alter votes.

I'd like an "Honourable Mention" category. There is always one game you desperately want to mention, but there just isn't the opportunity to since you vote for something else in every other single category. There is always one more game you want to bring up.
And when posting the results, perhaps the top three in each category can be shown?

Good suggestion.

Stolen from an old post...
Alright, I've got a couple suggestions for next year.
First, there should be best PC online game, and Console online game.
Also, there should be Best Graphics 'technical' and Best Graphics 'Artistic' for obvious reasons.
Yeah, just a couple of thoughts.
And now that I've thought about it, because there is a 'Best PC game' why not have best Xbox, PS2, GC ect. It'll probably be 360/PS3/Rev next year, but still.

How about "Biggest flop". It would be nice to see what game was in the spotlight for being one of the worst. :)

For a transition year such as this one, I think it would be a good idea to split up the Best Graphics category into separate awards for current generation and next generation.

"Most Persistent Rumor"
Deals with our favorite (hehe) types of topics, but I don't think it's necessarily flamebait, as something like "Dumbest Rumor of the Year" could be (would definitely draw out fanaticism).

Best predominately gaming-related Digital Press blog? (Which might also win ‘Longest 2006 Otto Awards category name’).
Most flamed Anthony1 thread? ...I’m joking, I’m joking.

How about a classic gaming category?
I think the reason for not having that is that it wouldn't really be year-specific; it would just be for whatever the current favorite is among classic games. The award(s) would likely be the same year after year, at least until certain games start getting called "classic."
However, I think a "lifetime achievement award" or "hall of fame" would be a good idea. That way, once a person or game wins, it would be considered inducted, and therefore ineligible in subsequent years. Maybe it could start with 5 or so recipients, just to get the obvious ones that people will vote for out of the way (Mario, Zelda, etc.). Maybe that's what you were suggesting; I don't know.

That's a really good idea. And also kinda why doing a 'Best Classic Game' category doesn't work as well as the current stuff.

How about some sort of best dialouge / voice acting type award? A Golden Flyswatter for the Most Buggy Game? Best use of licensed sound? I'm struggling to remember what the categories actually are at the moment.
