I've looked through the poll votes, and I'm disappointed with the numbers. It would have been nice to have seen some more votes.

On the upside, every Xbox 360 owner voted in the Fighting Game poll.

I was really disappointed that Half-Life 2 was not included in the best FPS category.

Resident Evil 4 deserves the nod though, what a freakin' amazing game. X_x

I feel bad that I couldn't have done more voting, but I only felt qualified to vote in two of the categories. I don't think it's fair to vote for something when you haven't even played five of the other games it is up against.

am I missing something but Mario Kart while a very very cool game is frustratting online. No lobby to find people you want to race just random match ups. People always drop games since there doesn't seem to be a downside to it. My last race is almost alwasy a one on one match up. I don't play many games online but if Mario Kart is the best I probably won't be doing much more.

I didn't vote for DOA4, but it's definitely a worthy choice.

While I'm deeply grieved by the complete lack of Psychonauts on this list, I'm still quite pleased with the overall results. Last year was truly an amazing year for gaming.

I actually was shocked that DoA4 won for best fighting game. That's just me though!

If I remember correctly in the nomination thread, there were way more nominations for Tekken 5 than anything else, what happened?

Anyways, DoA4 is definately the best game in the series, kudos to Team Ninja for that.

We'll see how many people show up for it though at EVOLUTION 2006 the World Fighting Game Championships. LOL

I was kind of disappointed in the best music award. I felt that it should have been the best "original" music award. Any game can throw hit songs in their soundtrack.

For all the changes, RE4 still wasn't enough to get me into the game. Still can't stand the control system =/ I really wanted God of War to win that one!

If you are referring to the PC version of Half-Life 2, that was released in November of 2004.

As for the XBOX version, perhaps it should have been included.

Yeah, Guitar Hero winning best music is kinda lame I think. Cover versions of hit songs is better than the full orchestral score in DQ8 or some other game?

What games came out in 2005 anyway? I don't even remember.

i agree with DQ8 as rpg of the year. More like RPG of EVER!
