Some sources had this releasing in July, others November, but it seems like it's totally slipped off the radar. Did this get canned along the way? There was a full article about it in Nintendo Power a few months back (May?)...

stupid question, but who developed this? 2K sports got some exclusive rights to baseball on most systems, I know PS2 is still putting out their BIG SHOW, baseball, or something like that, and EA backdoored the baseball world by getting the NCAA baseball license (BASTARDS..LOL). I wasn't aware of this, do you know who was making this game?

was it renamed to Mario Baseball Maybe? I am not sure, but searching on nintendo's web site for info on "pennant chase baseball" came up w/ Mario Baseball and All star baseball 2000, ironically for the 64...lol. I dunno, I am sure someone will have some info.

Pennant Chase was being published by Nintendo itself. The baseball exclusivity only deals with third party publishers...companies that make their own consoles (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft) are still allowed to bring their own baseball games out. I don't think it could've been turned into Mario Baseball which is just too different (and which wasn't made by Nintendo anyway, but by Namco. I figure it's either been cancelled or been delayed until next season.

It didn't turn into Mario Baseball, both were shown at E3 2005, so obviously they were both being made at the same time. Not to mention they are developed by completely different teams (Namco for Mario, Exile who made World Series 2K3). Originally it was going to come out last year, but it really missed the date when baseball games make it to the market. I would have assumed that it would come out this month, considering every other baseball game comes out in January or Feburary, however still no news.

IGN says it's cancelled, so know knows.

Well Gamespot.com has it listed as canceled: Here (http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/sports/nintendopennantchasebaseball/index.html?q=pennant%20chase%20baseball)

I went to Nintendo.com a little earlier today and didn't find it listed...in fact, it looks like there will be no new baseball game for the GC this year. Guess I'll have to start a new season with my MVP game and do some trading to make my favorite team's roster correct...

Well, if there was a sports title Nintendo wanted to use to show off the use of the Rev. controller, I guess a baseball game would be the one. ;)

Actually Take Two is making a baseball title for the GameCube (in the 2K series). Why would they pass up such a great opprotunity?

Thanks for the info guys. It seems that they'd cancelled what appeared (to me) to be a pretty high-profile game. Oh well!

I thought that the pennant chase baseball is actually Mario Baseball

but who knows maybe it's still gonna be released.

Since Pennant Chase Baseball isn't even listed on Nintendo's own website anymore, I'm inclined to agree with the websites that say it has been cancelled. In fact, Nintendo's site doesn't list any baseball titles for this year at all so this may be the first year there is no new baseball game for the GameCube since the system's introduction.

I guess I missed that one. Still, how good can it be with Jeter on the cover? :D

Last I heard of it, it got put on hold in favor of something else. I haven't heard anything since then though.
