There was a thread over at ASSEMbler on this set-up. If anyone is wondering, it allows you to do home banking at from your MD. There was a similar system available for the Famicom too.

http://assemblergames.com/images/mega_anser/mega_anser.jpg

There was also a MD printer for the system, so you could print bank statements. Do you have one Adol?

While i don't care much for the PC-Engine, i can say that your Japanese MD collection is quite impressive.

Get your hands on a Mega FDD (as-in floppy disk drive). That'd impress me a bit more. Or even the drawing tablet. Or how about the Master System FDD.......

Pics of your supposed items?

I'm not collecting dreams you know :)

I've "seen" a pic of the MS FDD, I don't know the history of that. Could be a mockup (though there's a disk on the table in front of it in the picture).

Of course all are unreleased protos, but seeing as you managed to acquire a Tsushin Booster......

Did have a better piccie on my HDD. Will try to find it...

Will try to find a decent pic of the MD Graphics Tablet too.....

I'm not interested in prototypes...finding them is just about "luck&money"...besides,you're running after a dream, sometimes it exists (like my tsuushin booster) somtimes it doesn't...
Mega anser existed and was SOLD,like those other rare stuff...

I'm not collecting "unreleased" hardware,it is just useless, and not quite interesting

Strange thing to say considering how much use the Mega Anser gets these days ;)

I wonder what you are doing for a living @adol??

you once said you're still student.

either a rich student or somebody who must have created something really big.

i mean I know a guy who's collection is worth up to 200000$ - but yours probably half million!

Yes, i'm still student, doing law&right studies

I just managed, with my twin brother,to buy&sell games on ebay in the "good"period that was from 1998 to 2001...and the,n be able to pay for my own games, that's all :)
I made some choices too, like reselling my complete neo geo japanese home cartridge full set,and complete game&watch collection, to pay for the other ones :)

About Mega Anser,i didn't pay much for those, then why pass on them?

But paying cheap for them doesn't mean they're not valuable&expensive, that's just "luck"

And then,if i paid them cheap,i don't see why i'd pass on them :)

But for example,i'll never pay 200-300000 yens for Tetris

Allow a brother to add his two cents. ;) A similar set-up was released in Brazil in 1997 by a popular bank called Bradesco. It allowed users to manage their bank accounts ( not exactly sure of what services were availible) .It had a very limited run.
This comes up on MercadoLivre (the Brazilian ebay) every
couple of months or so, but sells for a HEFTY price.

Oh, and nice collection Adol.

Well,Go Net doesn't even have a box,and i do have
(thanks anagrama) the website URL of the company who made it..it was NOT sold officially in stores, like San San,etc..

I'll try to find it,but that's like checking for all pirate stuff, like Tekken VS Virtua Fighter 2,Tekken Special,Divine Sealing...i already have those 3 but you understood my point of view..

BTW, you're all being a little "picky",don't you think? :)

And that website link I gave you at Guardiana was just a page that had info on it, it wasn't the company that made it (It's actually made by Sega and has a G-45xx part number).

That's interesting, didn't know about that. Don't suppose you've got any pictures of the set-up and software have you please? I'm trying to navigate Mercardo Livre atm, but I don't think there's any on there. There are some very sexy looking white MD2s though. Did Tectoy do a matching white M-CD2?

Pretty sure I've got some pics of it at home - I can post them tonight if noone else beats me to it. TecToy also released a MegaDrive keyboard to use with Bradesco & the MegaNet carts. Don't think there's a white MegaCD2.

Yeah, that'd be cool. Thanks very much. Probably worth starting a thread over at ASSEMbler too, I'm sure everyone there would like to see anothr crazy online MD set-up. Pity there's no Tectoy M-CD2. A completely white official MD2/CD2 system would have been very cool.

Divine Sealing is not a pirate but just a usual unlicensed game to my knowledge btw.

When is a japanese collection considered to be complete anyway? When you have every game or every existing cart like Wonder Library, Wonder Midi & Co.?

It's in the eye of the beholder really. If Adol considers his 'complete' then that's all well and good, but if he says "100% complete" then he shouldn't be surprised when nits get picked.

Yes, i'm still student, doing law&right studies

Ohh, I have a law question for you!

What process do you go through to sell the rights to a prototype MegaCD game to a US-based distributer who in turn sets out to finish the game and commercially release it? Is it a complicated process or does it just involve the US Company giving the person in possession of the prototype a few grand for their copy of the game?

I've always been curious!

Had a dig around for those Bradesco pics, but I can't find 'em at the mo :/

I know I've seen it on Mercado-Libre a couple of times in the past - it's a larger unit that plugs into the MD cart slot modems, similar to the Brazilian MegaNet, rather than a using a seperate cart & modem like Nagoya or Mega Anser do.

Unfortunately, I don't have pics.Like I said, these are very hard to come by. Oh, and that white MD2 you saw is actually a Super Mega Drive 3, released in 2003 ( The Mega is still sold in small quantities in Brazil). Tec Toy never officially released the MCD in Brazil , but the US SCD was sold.

I have a friend however who has a Bradesco MegaNet and who also wrote a very good FAQ about Mega Drive/SMS in Brazil. E-mail him for pics. Here's the FAQ:

http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/sms/file/tec_toy_games.txt

Go to section 5.2 for Mega Drive hardware released in Brazil.

Anagrama: Well, the picture you show here isn't a "real"one concerning the box, just a "long distance" one, where you can't even check existence of it ( don't take it personally, but i even have ads & reviews of MD JPN games that were never released, so it can be possible there was such pic in advertizings, and finally the released product is just a "loose"cart )

CosmicMonkey: Well, then it is 99,99% complete, and i don't know if anyone on Earth living outside of Japan is nearer than that. Does that make it better for you?

BFC: Yes,of course!
