For some reason, I was hoping to see an updated version of the game like Tempest 2000- Gorf 2000.

It should be mentioned that this is on the Jaguar CD format. If it were on cartridge, I'd probably buy it but I don't have a CD unit for my system.

Too bad...Space Cadet!

Gorf was one of my top 3 arcade games at the time. quick question. Out of all the compliations that exsist. Excluding mame which is the most faithful translation of the game?
Many systems tried I remember the atari computer one being good even had the bouncing head at the start. but to me something always seemed to be missing. I think cartridge limitations maybe had something to do with it.

For that matter, I really wish someone would figure out how to get Ms. Gorf running and ported.

Mame is the only good GORF out there that I know of, Colecovision version is alright for a old School port on some old ass hardware(no speech though). Could be some nice PC ports around? Atari 5200 looks schweet, but the controls are hanis :(

I've always loved Gorf, so I hopped on this right away. I seriously think that I'm building shelves tomorrow because I need a place to house my Jaguar stuff, and I want to pull it all out in time to play this game. My copy is already ordered and on it's way :)

As a tester on the Jag version I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find many differences between this version and the arcade original, let alone other home ports. The Stooges were doing direct comparisons to the arcade machine and MAME, and testers were running MAME and the Jag version side-by-side to compare.

Lest anyone think this is a mere arcade conversion, there is more to be discovered in JagCD Gorf ;)

I've got a couple of questions, Kev:
1) I see no way to specify whether we want to order the standard, or limited, edition, and no mention of a price difference between the two. Is this because the limited run is all gone already, or am I missing something?

2) I don't do PayPal. The PayPal link provides an option for folks without a Paypal account - how does that work, if PayPal is the only payment accepted?

1) If there are any Special Release copies left when you order, you'll get one. If not, you'll get a standard copy. The only difference in them is the packaging, the game on the discs is exactly the same. So there's no price difference in them.

2) The "If you do not currently have a PayPal account, Click Here" link just takes you to sign up for a PayPal account.

Site has been update with photos of the standard release copies of Gorf and put the price on the main order page too ;)
