tons of games under $19.99 now of course CAG has a PDF you can download with all the games.

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82347

all the PS2 Guncon games are $17.99 or $14.99 with the gun @_@

I went today and got Time Crisis Crisis Zone and Taiko Drum Master both were $17.99 each.

both people working seemed surprised it was so cheep since they just got the price drops today and took the remaining Guncon games. :(

Another reason to go to Gamecrazy: cheap Genesis goodness (especially with shooters). I've scored the following for $1.99 each:

Castlevania Bloodlines
Fire Shark
Hellfire
Bio Hazard Battle
Contra Hard Corps
Mega Turrican

As always, it's a YMMV thing, but it doesn't hurt to look, right?

Anyways, thanks for the heads-up!

Picked up a Taiko Drum Master and a Time Crisis 3 w/Guncon, both new. Also got a few Saturn games that look to be new as well, Powerslave, Alien Trilogy and Jurassic Park for just $1.99 each. The clerk who checked me out was clueless too. He said of Taiko, "Great game!" and then scanned it, looked at the screen and said, "Holy price drop batman!" Fun to be in the know.

Just ran into Game Crazy and picked up Taiko Drum Master and Stella Deus. Final Fantasy X2 still rang up at 14.99 though. Be sure to have the employee scan the items you're interested in -- nobody at the store I went to seemed to know about the price drops (and all the games are still marked at full price), but the lower prices came up when they scanned the items. Good luck hunting! :)

PS2 Digital Devil Saga Boxed Set 19.99
PS2 Trapt 19.99

I went to the store at Mitchell. I didn't expect a thing being so late (three days after the sale started) but I got:

Donkey Konga w/bongos $20
Donkey konga 2 w/bongos $20
Eye Toy Antigrav w/cam $18
SMT Nocturne $18 (!!!!!YEAH!!!!)
Shining Tears $20
Makai Kingdom $20
RPG Maker II (used, like new) $8

Milwaukeans: This afternoon the store at Mitchell had still 5 or 6 Taiko Drum Masters left, but no Time Crisis, DDRs or Kongas.

I went through the 32 sale-pages, made a personal list, and just asked in the store -- do the same, you might be surprised what is still in store. The biggest thing was Nocturne -- for one and a half years I never saw that thing cheaper than $50, online it is very hard to get in the meantime, ebay prices already go a bit crazy, only Atlus themselves sells it for $55 on their site -- and there it was for 18 bucks.

Shining Tears and Makai Kingdom I don't regard as a big catch -- I always wait until RPGs drop to $20, and then buy them. I'm pretty sure soon other stores will offer them for $20.

Not only DK2 w/bongos but also the first one w/bongos -- that's a great deal.

BTW: Thanks Rich for the heads up!

I went into my local Gamecrazy today not expecting to find anything (I live in a small town and their stock is always limited.); but I did pick up a couple of things.

Taiko Drum Master $17.99
Trapt $19.99

Unfortunately this Gamecrazy always gets only a few of each PS2 RPG in when they are released (They sold all of their copies of DQ VIII the day the came and they haven't got anymore since.); so they didn't have any Digital Devil Sagas or Makai Kingdom. However.. they did have two more Drum Masters left (They haven't marked them down either.) and a cr*pload of DK Kongas. If anyone has a spare Karaoke Rev w/Mic or DDS.. I'd be willing to grab a DM for them and trade (The DK Konga games weren't marked down either and I didn't ask. The teeny bopper behind the counter acted as if she was "put out" ,scanning items for me.).

My biggest find was neither a sale or a mark-down but it had to be a "misprice" because I picked up a used; but like new Monster Cable Xbox HDTV cable for $4.99! Funny thing is my best friend just bought a 52" DLP HDTV last weekend and went down two days ago and paid $55 for this same cable brand new. He crapped his pants when I told him about it. ;)

I picked up a MINTY (but used) Digital Devil Saga with Bonus Soundtrack.

Everything is in fantastic condition, but there is no cardboard box (just the snap case with manual and game, plus the soundtrack disc.)

If anyone is interested, I would trade for any of the NEW boxed Time Crisis GunCon games - Time Crisis 2, 3 or 4.

Just let me know!

Thanks,
Steve

Right back at you with the thanks, Lendelin! After hearing you talk up Nocturne, I went back to the St. Francis Gamecrazy, and found a new copy for $17.99! I never would of noticed it, as I think it has some of the most non-rpg cover art I've ever seen. As an extra bonus I saw that they had a new Culdcept for just 9.99. Needless to say I picked that up too. Great sale, but I think I'm going to have to put a few items from the tradebox onto Ebay to finance all of this!

I went to hit up the Woodbury GCzy tonight only to find it shut down as of (last?) June. :( Got redirected to the Mplwd store where the clerk knew nothing about the sale prices. I showed him the list & saw a TC3 w/ Guncon2 but it was over $40. He didnt scan it but seemed adamant about selling it for the sale price, & I didnt press the issue.

I did see a Pelican light gun for the Dreamcast- does anyone know how well these work? In EGMs House of the Dead 2 review (which is the only game I'd be using it for) they complained about how neither gun they tested worked too well.

You're welcome, glad you found Nocturne and Culdcept!!

I thought about going to the St. Francis store because there was a good chance that they might have Nocturne or other games on the list...but then, I didn't have the time AND was too lazy AND was happy with my first finds. :)

Yep, keep Nocturne! It won't go down in price. I always wait for RPGs to drop to $20 and lower, and as a rule this strategy pays off bigtime. Once in a while though you do it with a game and you think in this case it might have been a mistake. This was the case with Nocturne.

It is an Atlus game, it is from the SMT series, it got hype and became popular becasue of the Doublejump book/guide, Atlus doesn't overprint their games for sure -- the result: no price drop in 18 months, almost impossible to find online for $50, never saw it in store for less than $50, it was on ebay for more than $50, and I didn't see it recently in stores at all. I was VERY close buying it for $50 (which gives me shivers).

Nocturne will always be in demand, and in all likelihood will go up in price in the coming years.

TRUS sale, Gamecrazy sale, I have to say, in Milwaukee you really find a lot including the CC and Best Buy sales....and like you I think I'll have to get some stuff onto ebay after all those expenses (still have that sealed Dragon Warrior 7 from the CC sale two years ago).

Atlus is the ONLY company I will blindly pay full price for their games, because I KNOW I want them and I know they won't be easy to find past retail. I paid full price for DDS 1 & 2 and Magna Carta, and I have yet to play any of them.

You're right...in the case of some Atlus RPGs it is very dangerous to wait buying them; some overlooked ones like Wizardry Tale of the Forsaken Land are cheap to get after one or two years, but some others never drop in price and have the potential to become the next Suikoden II.

I still gamble and wait ...I got the boxed Digital Devil Saga for $10, now Nocturne for $18, who knows, maybe I'll get lucky with Magna Carta, too. :) I have around 15 RPGs for the PS2 on my list released in the last year which I still have to get....and what am I playing currently? Forza Motorsport! :) (CC has it for 17.99)

I was out of town from January 19th until the 29th, and found this thread yesterday, and figured I had missed out. I really wanted Taiko Drum Master and Culdcept, too.

While running errands today, I managed to hit two Game Crazies (there are about six total in my area), and the first one had one copy left of Taiko Drum Master, which I bought, but no Culdcepts. The other one had neither, but did have Atelier Iris marked $20 new and Radiata Stories for $30 new (I bought both of those at full price a while back). When I got home, since I lucked out on the Taiko, I decided to call the other Game Crazies in town to see if I could locate a Culdcept, and the first one I called had one copy left, which is on hold for me now. I'm going to pick it up tonight.

Woohoo.
