Street Fighter II: CE-great translation, just make sure to get a 6 button controller quickly. Great sampled sound effects and speech, but the music blows.

PC Genjin 2: my fave Bonk game

Super Star Solider: great ol school vert shooter. One of my top 10. Later levels can be f'n headaches!

Parodius Da!: Its Parodius! Nuff said.

Salamander: Another old school classic. If you're a shooter fan, you'll appreciate this.

Definitely the ones that require no reading.

Street Fighter II: Champion Edition hu-cards are very good ports of the arcade version. My only recommendation would be to get a six button NEC Avenue pad. They're fairly easy to find on ebay.

Parodius Da is another good choice. Turbo Grafx/PC Engine systems are the best consoles for SHMUP's. Besides, Parodius Da is fun as hell anyway! :)

PC Genjin/Kid 2 (which is Bonk's Revenge in the U.S.) makes for a good purchase. It's fun to pick out the differences between the Japanese and American versions. And let's not forget how fun this game is.

Bomberman is a great series altogther, but in this case, I would go with the 94' version. It's much improved over 93', plus it's a Japanese exclusive title. Add an NEC Turbo Tap with a few more controllers, and you've got a terrific party game! :bday:

Alice in Wonderdream is neat, little fantasy platformer. Plus, going around as a little, blonde girl and killing all sorts of mystical creatures with magic spells has its fun points.

Those are just my suggestions, but have fun with whatever you decide. The PC Engine is great system.

Incidentally can anyone tell me what I should be paying for these games (roughly) - you will see that the list is split into 3 groups with the 1st group being the cheapest.
