View Full Version : Midway Arcade Treasures 3 "Promotion Only"

I just thought I'd bring this up as I know some of you are into stuff like this (plus I'm curious about it.)

I bought a "used" Midway Arcade Treasures 3 at Gamestop as part of their B2G1 sale. When I got home I noticed the front cover and disc had a small white box with text to the effect of "Promotional Only, Not for Sale" kind of like the old promo SNES carts. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen one of these and what was it a promo for? The game still has the UPC on the back, which strikes me as odd for a promo item. Was this a giveaway or a kiosk demo or what?

(Saddly, the collection is a little disspointing. Offroad Thunder is just about unplayable due to slowdown and Rush 2049 has a bad case of it as well.)

I have a Promo-only copy of Midway Arcade Treasures Volume 2. I was buddies with the guy working at my local EB. The Midway guy gave it to him for free but he didn't have a PS2 so he let me have it.

May be something similar to that.

Yep, I got mine when I pre-ordered L.A. Rush. Btw, the promo copies of MAT2 were a pre-order bonus with Area 51. There are promo copies of the first Midway Arcade Treasures as well, can't remember what game you had to pre-order to get that though.

Also, I imagine these promo copies are only limited to the PS2 and Xbox versions as none of the games you had to pre-order to get them had Gamecube versions. Could be wrong on this, though.
