i feel really bad about posting this, because it feels like a borderline "+1 post" but jesus what is with the competition for "whos the coolest because they started the finds thread" ???
DUDE YOU DIDNT BUY ANYTHING YET, SO WHY START THE DAMN THREAD!? is it really that big of a deal??
oh well, i might as well post what i bought on friday to make it feel like there was atleast something about my post that was on topic.

finds from random places.
I decided to give the sms another chance and boy..do those games suck ass, but at least I can play mediocre games on the go now..wee....
http://www.green-ranger.com/nes/finds/smsfinds.jpg

the video tapes were 1$ each, and the binoculers were only 2$ due to a "50% off anything with glass" sale

this is the second gameboy printer i've come across at the same store, now I just need to find a camera and i'm set (anyone have one they want to dump cheap??)

I alos decided to break down and buy a bunch of the re-released psx games that have been clogging the shelves at gamestop, and with the buy 2 get one free sale I think I did pretty well.

and a random thought, persona 2 is one of the best (non-remake) rpgs i've played in a LOOOONG time.

First of all, I want to echo what Max 330 said. I really don't understand why people race to start the finds threads. If you didn't find anything, then I don't understand why you would even be thinking about it. It just seems immature to me.

Now, on to the finds.

http://alaimolabs.com/P1010164.JPG

Found this stuff at a few thrifts yesterday.

Thats the original Microsoft Flight Simulator from 1982. It's a spiral-bound softcover book, and an envelope containing the single 5.25" disk is inside, attached to the binding.

Also found the original 1993 release of Warcraft for DOS. I collect DOS games and this was a pretty cool find. Completely complete, too. The previous owner had printed out a FAQ on his dot matrix printer and that's in there too. It even still has the Blizzard Entertainment notepad inside, and I don't think that a single page got used. This was the find of the day for me. Probably not worth anything, but cool as hell IMHO. Sometimes I wonder why I bother collecting for consoles. I get much more excited about computer stuff.

Manual for Microsoft Space Simulator. This game is hard to find. Wish I had found the game too, but this way I have the manual if I want to just d/l the game from an abandonware site or something.

Super Monaco GP for GG.

Licensed Tengen Pac-Man.

2 floppy disk holders; one for 3.5" and one for 5.25".

Hitting up a place or two today, so hopefully I find something else!

Hey, guys; don't be kicking poor ol' keibler. We've all been n00bs at sometime or another, (no offence to keiblerfan69), and it's kinda scary to go into a gigantic forum filled with long-time users, knowing that you've barely been there for 10 minutes. Sometimes the best way to get noticed or appreciated is to start a new finds thread; even if you don't have a single thing to show. That is all.

I ran into a pretty nice find this weekend for my self. My sister decided she didn't want her N64 anymore (she is busy with school and is more than happy with her gamecube) so I am the proud owner of one again.....this time for free

It came with three controllers (2 official and 1 mad catz), 14 games and all the hookups. Just need to pick myself up a memory card, an expansion pack and another controller and I am all set. :D

More stuff.

http://alaimolabs.com/Finds012806.jpg

From Kay-Bee Toys, Road Trip (PS2) and Millipede/Super Breakout/Lunar Lander, both new of course, $4.99 ea. Pretty happy about this stuff. I've been wanting Road Trip for a while, and I've been curious as to the quality of these Atari releases, but didn't want to lay down $15 to find out.

Also, I got a minty like new GC controller for $6 at a record store. Very happy about this one as I only had 1 GC controller and Ms. Jibba has been wanting to get some 2 player MK:DD going on.

To top it off, afterwards we went to The Gap with a $15 gift card fr each of us. Ms. Jibba bought a $17.68 top. I threw down a ten dollar bill and 68 cents in change to make up the difference. The guy says "OK $18 is your change" and starts handing me $18. I correct him and say "8 dollars...". He says "No, $18.". Ms. Jibba snatched up the money and handed it to me and we left. Pretty funny because the $15 gift cards we used were free from Gap for buying some stuff a while ago. So we went in their today and basically got $30 worth of clothes for free, plus I walked out with $8 in cash more than I walked in their with. Hey, I tried to tell him.

I just inhereted a PSX! 2 Sony Memory cards and 2 non dual-shock controllers included. My non-gamer friend is moving to California after his divorce is finalized. His now ex-wife sold all his games when she left, and he asked me if I wanted his Playstation. He told me it was headed for the attic, anyway.

without blinking, I said "Hell yeah!".

Absolutely nothing beats a free console. No games, though. :(

I bought a clear purple Game Boy Color tonight at EB for $10.72 with tax included. It has no box or anything, but the stickers are all intact except for a barcode (isn't that on there? I forgot) and the battery cover is intact and firm. The system has no scratches, and the screen cover has a few minor scratches -- nothing that can't be replaced for $3 if I felt like it.

They have a lime one available as well, though I didn't inspect it for condition. I may be buying it -- once I get $11 again, I'll go back and check. Same great condition = buy, no so well condition = buy Pokemon Trading Card Game (GBC) or hit GameXchange to see if they have Kirby Superstar (SNES) or Phantasy Star Online V1/2 for Dreamcast.

Decent haul for me

http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b235/joshnickerson/wke0129.jpg

Super Scope - $4
Baseball - $4
Dig Dug - $4
Tennis - $4
Tiny Toons 2 - $1

The Tennis and Baseball games are interesting, because not only are they
NES launch titles in great condition, they still have the original manuals and
posters, pretty much mint! The Super Scope is iffy at the moment... the batteries
were corroded inside and I actually had to take the thing apart to get one
out, but hopefully I can clean out the corroded rust and get it working again.
For four bucks, it was worth a gamble.

I'm annoyed. I woke up at 7 this morning and went all the way to the car boot sale. The damn thing wasn't on.

I spoke to my friend later in the day and he said it doesn't start up until March.

I went to another one at 10am but it turned out it started at 11am. I had to get ready for work at 12, so I wouldn't have had much time to look around.

Looks like I'm stuck with the 99p bin in Gamestation, unless someone wants to trade some common games.

joshnickerson: I got a Super Scope a while ago. It was a fair price, but not super cheap like yours. It's almost mint. The only damage is a small dent in the corner of the box. As far as I can tell it's got all the original leaflets and manuals, all in mint condition. It's almost like it was unsold stock which was forgotten about and left in a store room all these years.

Went to go trade in some crappy PS2 games I've picked up dirt cheap at the various clearance sales of late. Went to a music store that sells videogames and DVDs as well and found a Primal Rage Jaguar CD complete in box with instructions and CD case for $24.99. Got it even on trade, so no cost to me. I've been trying to get one of these for a while, but the ones on ebay always get out of control.

Gamecrazy:
Shining in the Darkness(Genesis, Complete): 10.40 + 0.62 tax

Just a little over the DP guide's price, but it would have been more to get online becasue of shipping, so it's good.

Neither have the origional case or manual. I'll get 'em later though. Lomax is an R6 and since TC was rather cheap at was an Atlus release I though what the heck.

And....

GC to GBA link cable

Used one. As crazy as it sounds I've been looking for a used one for forever and had not saw a single one. And then at GameStop yesterday they had two. It's a offical Nintendo one to. Price? 2.99

Ace Combat 4

I know that all of these I should have already played, but some of them I had rented and never bothered picking up. That B2G1 sale at Gamestop just proved too hard to resist. I paid a total of $45 for them all (plus another 15ish to renew my Gamestop card).

Manual for Microsoft Space Simulator. This game is hard to find. Wish I had found the game too, but this way I have the manual if I want to just d/l the game from an abandonware site or something.

Do any Abandonware Sites have Microsoft Windows 1.0? I've been wating to see if it's really as bad as everyone says.

BTW, I havn't found anything yet.

Well, since this is changing to a monthly thread and I have no desire to slog through 10 pages to post anything, this will be my last one for a while. Everything was purchased today:

Best Buy
Rebelstar Command (GBA, new) - $14.99

Circuit City
Far Cry Instincts (XB, new) - $14.99

It's been fun!
