I don't recall this pack in, and I've never seen it documented. Not to mention it's from 1976. Not to mention there wouldn't be space for it in the box.

Heh...when we were at Joe's store, Chris bought a boxed Superman game and they had an offer on the front for a wallet. I believe you had to send away for it. Regardless...isn't that wallet a little old to be the one they gave away?
So, yeah, there is a wallet (don't know if theres any special way to tell what it looks like), but I don't think thats the one.

I believe this really was a pack in with some releases of the Superman Atari game. I posted about this at AtariAge, have a look if you like....

Also something to consider, is that the date on the front of that wallet is a copyright date. It's a licensed DC comics product. It doesn't necessarily mean the wallet was made in '76, just that it's a copyright from '76. In fact some Atari games have copyright dates on them that precedes the actual release of the 2600. I think I have at least one 2600 cart that is copyrighted to 1975 or so, when the VCS didn't hit the shelf until '77.
That was a packin for the Special Edition box version of Atari Superman though. It would have had the offer sheet on the front of the box, with the wallet shrinkwrapped to the back of the box.
But the wallet was also common item back in the day and sold apart from the Atari game. So it's easy to find the wallet on ebay without the game, or to buy both individually and then set them together on shelf or whatever.

Nobody said definitively "I had one of those with the wallet attached"...it appears in the link from the Atari Age thread that would have been the case:

But I'm always skeptical about this kind of thing...shrinkwrapping a wallet to a box seems like a strange thing to do, even for Atari.
