They are worth...whatever they are worth. If they are staying in your collection, then they are worth whatever you feel they a worth.

As far as what they will be worth in the future? They will be worth whatever they will be worth.

If someone sold a Socom 3 beta for $300, then it was worth $300 to those people at that moment. There is no way to tell what it may be worth at any other moment.

There's your moment of neo-zen.

No, he didn't. Everything is only worth how much people who are willing to buy are going to pay. There isn't a set value that everyone must pay to obtain such a thing. Someone has to offer something that you will like, and that they are happy with, and that changes between certain people. If you're going to keep them in your colletion, then why do you care anyways?

Like some other people have hinted at, it's a tough item to price. The fewer sales of something there are on ebay, the harder it is to come up with a comparable sale to look to...

Personally I don't like the long-term value prospects for something like this.. I don't think they will have legs ten years from now.

Public betas tend not to be worth much in the long run. Especally online ones, because the servers are usually shutdown when the game ships.

Developers betas vary depending on the game, how different they are from the retail build, if they have debug menus, how complete the beta is, and how popular the game is after it's released.

A halo 2 beta with some of the missing levels would be worth a whole lot more than a tony hawk underground beta that's identical to retail. The only sure way to tell how much any individual beta is worth, it to sell it.

sony is really funny about the betas.
you cant sell them even after the beta is over due to the contract for signing up for the betas.
i havent seen any on ebay.

This is entirely true.

i have been very fortunate about getting the betas and store demos for free.

the last item i watched on ebay that i have was the kirby canvase curse demo and it finished out at $46.00
i have been trying to catch a mario kart ds on there to see about what it goes for.

Beta's are a buyers market. They are worth what someone plunks down for one at the time.

Now are you talking the Online betas that Sony passed out? Then its understandable for that SOCOM 3 to have gone for that, since someone really wanted to get in BADLY on the pre-release play. I remember all the crazy ebay prices for the SOCOM2 and EQOA betas when those launched. Now, they are worth practically nothing. The game content isnt accessable and is unplayable, making it not much more than a conversation piece.

Now if these are true betas of the games and not the online beta portions then those are worth a little something more. But again not a whole ton right now. The one true full PS2 beta i've got cost me maybe 15 bucks shipped, and its on official media and everything. The same goes for my PSOne beta's. Hell all the Online test beta's i've got wernt all that expensive. Either I got them for participating or got them given to me once the beta was over by friends, for free since they were dead.
