Super Auctions are coming around to West Allis WI again in March, and I'm seriously considering buying a Capcom Bowling machine if I can get it cheap enough ($200 or less). But I have a couple of questions for those of you that, well, actually KNOW shit about arcade games.
Is it easy to find parts for this game?
How reliable is the trackball? How long will it last? Can I just squirt some WD-40 on it when it starts to go bad (for lack of a better term)?
And since I know if I buy this cab it won't be the only one, I'll ask this too. If I buy, say, a TMNT cab, can I swap boards and use it to play the Simpsons and X-Men beat-em-ups too?

Capcom Bowling is super common. You'll find one cheap and cheap parts will be readily available.

These guys have covered all the major stuff, so I just wanted to add that Capcom Bowling RULES. Also, I've bowled a "300" game on it more than once. Love that game. :)

I have the board and trackball setup for this game. A guy left them sitting out in the weather for a couple of years. The cab was ruined, but the trackball and board still work nicely.
There is also a Coors Light version which is kinda cool if you can find it, however watch out as this one is not Jamma.

Hohoho, good to know. Thanks for the fast replies! There were a couple of them at the auction last time I went, hopefully that'll repeat itself. The game just ain't the same when you're playing on MAME with a mouse. LOL

I have a Capcom Bowling, coincidentally delivered by Dr. Stonic himself. :D
Works great. Scott summed up everything you need to know. They are plentiful and fun as all hell. I even saw one of the aforementioned Coors Light ones at the last auction we were at. I was so tempted to pick that one up too.
A bid of $150 will easily secure one. The Coors Light one went for that much, and that's a harder find. :)
... or you can always come to NJ and play it for free. ;)

Are you sure? I picked up a Coors Light Bowling about a year ago at an auction for $35... I'm almost positive that it was JAMMA, but I sold it a while ago, so I can't check for sure. I guess for a game like that it doesn't really matter, since you're probably not planning on using it for anything else anyway...

I find it strange also, however I own the regular version and not the Coors Light one so I can't verify it.
It could be an error, but like everyone else I get my info at KLOV.
http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=C&game_id=7394
As you can see they list it as a unique conversion class..
If anyone can confirm it's an error they should notify them.
Oh... if you're basing it off KLOV, it's probably wrong :P . It doesn't really do any good to notify them though, it takes so long for any updates to appear there, and a lot of times they never even show up. It's too bad because the site is great... I guess they just made it using too much manually administered stuff and not enough automatic scripted stuff :( .
IIRC when someone would submit a new game that wasn't already there, the conversion class option said put unique if you don't know what it is... so someone probably didn't know that it was JAMMA, so they put unique. If you look at monitor type and stuff of other games, lots of times it's wrong too.
