How long have you spent looking for a certian game for your collection. May not be as long as it feels but it seems like ive been watching for a complete copy of conan for the nes for months. Funny thing about collecting. It seems like the games that are susposed to be very rare and hard to find do come up for auction regularly but some of the ones listed as common dont show up as often as one would think.

Right now I've got about 615 different NES games - about 99% found in the wild.

I always wanted to find a tengen tetris, finally found one in the wild after looking for about 3 years.

Still have not found any dragon warrior II, III, or IV in the wild. Ever. Been looking for over 6 YEARS. So, still waiting on those.

took me 7 years to find silent bomber for the psx, had the demo disk back in '99, game must have had a low production number, never even made it to any of my local stores, searched high and low out in the wild until finally i had to break down and buy it on ebay, just got it in the mail a week or two ago. :D

Only since about 2002 for anything, really.

only game that I can recall that I had trouble finding in the wild was the SNES secret of mana. About a year after it came out back in the day, I had rented it about 20 times, enough to probably buy it. Only problem was I could never find the game. And since then I've for some reason never been able to find a copy in the wild. Not entirely true though, I found one at a gamestop a few years back when they still carried SNES games in the store, but the cartridge label is entirely missing and had a ton of writing on the back of it, I passed.

But last weekend, I visited a friend for the first time in a good year, and he took me to visit a new pawn shop that had opened, this shop carried anything and everything that they could get it looked like. There I picked up a complete copy of SNES, almost mint, for 7 bucks. Almost made the wait worth it.

I've been looking for World Series Baseball for the 32x for the past 3 years now. It comes up on Ebay often enough, but it is always when I don't have any money.

I started searching in the wild for Princess Tomato (NES) when I got back into collecting in late 1997. Finally snagged it at a Montreal flea market in the summer of '04, 6 1/2 years later.

Although I've only started collecting around 2003, there are two specific Genesis games that I've been looking for since 1997 or so and they are Shining Force II & Pirates! Gold. I have yet to come across either of them in the wild or at a store for that matter :(

Finding Pirates! Gold in the wild would make my day...or year...

The first thing that came to mind (even tho I know it's not what you were looking for) is Duke Nukem Forever.

I just read today that they're still working on that project after 10 years.

What about if it cost 35 bucks? I found it at my local store for the genny but it was that much. Too rich for my blood, especially when Apple ][e emulators are plentiful. Hell I probably can go to my parents house and find our copy of it and an Apple too.

For me, it was Prey. Been around longer than DNF, I think (at least the screenshots were - development shots of Shadow Warrior, Prey, and Blood were included on the Duke 3D CD-ROM)!

Complete? Quite possibly!
