Sure. Just get a memory card or an Action Replay and you can transfer save files between the two easily.

Unless the content is "special". I can't save Karaoke Revolution music files that I downloaded.

I have not tried using an Action Replay, though. Just the Xbox's file manager.

Some files can not be transfered. I believe team ninja games are specially built to not be transferable to a memory card. Only simple way to do it, is straight up copy and ftp the files with a modded xbox. Otherwise, you're pretty much SOL.

Do you know anyone who does have a modded box? As long as the system is hard modded you could pop your HD into it and use Evo or Slayers or any other software that has FTP functions. You would have to have a disk with the software on it and obviously crack open your xbox...but it won't change anything on your hd and you should be able to access all the files through your pc.

Not if his old HDD is locked. If it's locked, it will not be readable on the modded Box.

None of the DL'able content from XBL will be transferable and if the saves are bigger than 512 blocks your TSOL as well (that is if your using a memory card). There are games that have HD specific saves and even if they are 1 block saves you cant transfer them. I lost a number of games off my old XBox when they wouldnt transfer over to my new one becase of the locked saves.

I'm not positive, but I think you can gain FTP access thru a soft mod.

Can we link to tutorials here?

If not, just google Xbox and soft mod.

soft modded= still modded

The only way all of those files are moving is with some type of mod. Period.

Yeah, but a soft mod doesn't require opening up the box. So, I thought it might be useful to him.

All he needs is-

Equipment Needed:
1. XBOX version 1.0/1.1 (with the 4920 Dashboard)
2. Original copy of '007 - Agent Under Fire'
3. Action Replay for XBOX
4. Official 'Microsoft' Memory Card
5. Mordens Audio Hack 007 V.3

You only need items 6 and 7 below if you intend on
FTP'ing into your XBOX.

6. Ethernet PCI Card 10/100Mbps
7. Ethernet Crossover Cable (CAT 5 / RJ45)

Easiest way to do it, if his Xbox is that old.

And if I'm not Mistaken Krazys Ndure softmod and be uninstalled. I can say how cleanly it can do this as my father had to go into the file manager and delete some related files. But it can be done.

would that mod affect anything if i still wanted to use the box to play on live?

I don't think it affects Live unless you mess with the bios.

I did the Mechassault Linux hack using action replay to transfer all my stuff to my Halo LE Xbox, making that my primary unit and turning my old one into a media center/emulator unit. Live works fine, and all files except team ninja games and Burnout 2 transferred fine, even big ones like KOTOR. I used Xbox Save Manager, a great program to transfer the files, as well as back up some saves on my computer. Very quick and very easy.

Let me get this straight...you can't transfer most files from one Xbox to another Xbox with the memory card? Is this the exception rather than the rule? If not, what purpose does the memory card serve? I'm confused.
