Looks like he just put a sticker of SMRPG on a PAL cart.

That must be a repro. If it came out in UK as he claim people would have known about it. And since its a Mario game more people would own it.
The label looks very homemade too. Doubt Nintendo would make a logo that bad.

Wasn't the game released in australia ? (or is it a legend ?)
I guess nobody knew about the korean version until I found this picture

The australian/new zealand release is just a myth. A mario game would be much more known if it was released.

I was wondering if anyone else had spotted this.
I e-mailed the seller and he's sending me a video of the game running on a PAL SNES tomorrow. I've told him I want to see the sticker on the bottom of the SNES to make sure it is a UK PAL one, and not a Hong Kong PAL SNES with an NTSC security chip and 50/60Hz switch.
I've also been assured some better, high quality pictures of the game.
One more thing, had the game been released, what would it's SNSP number be? The Japanese version is SHVC-ARWJ-JPN, the US version is SNS-ARWE-USA, So I assume the UK one would have been SNSP-ARWP-XXX??? Not sure what the last 3 would be as there seems to be no pattern with Nintendo's PAL releases.

If its a UK release the 3 last letters would most likely be UKV. I dont know if UK also used the EUR code on their games, dont think so.
I also asked the seller to give me this code and better pics many hours ago, no reply yet.

Ok, so say the guy proves that it is a real, legitimate PAL version. And has a legitimate story of where he got it from. Well, what does it make it worth then? I've never seen one.
Now if a Euro Kizuna is worth $12.5k.... :D Ok, so it's certainly not in the same league but for something this rare you have to wonder. Better comparison would be some of the PAL Mega CD or 32X games. Didn't the last copy of 32X Primal Rage go for some silly 600quid or something?

Its not legit, I'm 100% sure. As I mentioned, if this game was sold in the stores or by order only alot more people would have it and it would be known to excist.
If it was a prototype I think he know about it. If you get the code for the game you can just check what game that code really belongs too and you know its a fake or a homemade cart.
geez, just look at the size of that label.
it's way too small and the nintendo logos aren't in the correct position, either.
it was me who discovered that you can switch the security chip in sa1 games like mario rpg between pal and ntsc mode in the first place.
all you have to do is get a ntsc copy of mario rpg, take out the pcb and lift pin 127 on the sa1 chip, put it back into a pal case and print out a custom label.
i did this for a few friends years ago, but i dont sell em.
after all, just printing out a label with nintendos logos and trying to sell that as a legimate nintendo product is copyright infringement already.
it is nifty though, because sa1 games have a nasty protection preventing them to run on foreign region units, even with import adaptors, so this mod is basically the only possible way to reliably play smrpg on a pal console.
oh, and beside that, the product code alone prooves absolutely nothing.
a pal uk-only smrpg would be SNSP-ARWP-UKV,
an english release for whole europe would be SNSP-ARWP-EUR, an english release for germany would be SNSP-ARWP-NOE and so on.
doesnt take a genius to figure these out.
here's a picture of another smrpg pal conversion, this one is a bit more convincing than the previously posted auction:

Sure it does. If a newbie have used a code, lets say for Super Mario World and made a custom label you can easaly find out what game that originaly have this code.
So to play SMRPG on a PAL console all you have to do is to cut off one leg? Thats pretty cool :)
The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale.
I hope that noone has bought it.
