Nintendo recently launched a budget program for GBA titles in Japan. Now, according to this post on Kotaku (http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/ds-lite/ds-lite-hits-us-in-may-151929.php), Nintendo will be launching a Player's Choice program for the GBA in the US.
The tipster does, however, have other interesting tidbits. They say that a new GBA SP color (Pearl Pink) will be coming this Spring. The tipster goes on to say that Nintendo is going to start a program called Player’s Choice for GBA Games. The first three of the discounted line-up will be Super Mario Advance: Super Mario Bros. 2, Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3, and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. The games will sell for about $20 each.
Hmm... here's hoping there's a few more games on the list is this is true.

re-release of Mario Advance 1? About time...pain to find it complete these days, especially sealed. Yet, this is "Player's Choice" which means butched up box art :(

It's not a complete surprise since it was done once for the B&W GB. However, I think there is such a glut of $14.99-$19.99 games that for the program to really stand out they would need a $14.99 price point in the US. I do wonder why they would go this route instead of going with 2 in 1 carts, which have proven to be popular.

Ditto. There are far too many budget GBA games, even in the $10 range, that it seems utterly pointless to do this.

Pointless. I will never buy a GBA game for over $10.

Never underestimate the parent-of-an-8-to-10-year-old demographic.
That said I'd pick up a Warioland 4 if they did it.

I want to see this for the DS as well. Wouldn't mind getting Trace Memory, but I heard it's really really short an not worth it. :hmm: :hmm:

Hmm...I always pick up gba games new in the 10 - 20 dollar range sealed at my work with or without discount. Seems annoying to me to have another label variation. Anybody seen this Castlevania two pack they made? We got those in ups shipments recently.

Small update: according to a report on GamesAreFun.com (http://www.gamesarefun.com/news.php?newsid=6111), Nintendo plans to release Mario & Luigi: SS, Super Mario World, and Yoshi's Island as Player's Choice titles on April 2nd. No other titles have been announced, but Nintendo plans to add more in the future.
Personally, I think that's a pretty weak selection. Nintendo should have added at least a couple more games - for example, any of the Metroids, F-Zeros, Kirbys, Zelda LTTP, Minish Cap, DKC 1 and 2. Hopefully Nintendo will eventually add some of these later on.

Great. Guess I'd better hurry up and get the rest of the old GBA games that I'm looking for before I have to start asking sellers if what they have is the damn Player's Choice version. I think that they should just reissue some of the harder to find games in their original form. Advance Wars should be one. Damn near impossible to find that one new.

I'm happy, I'd like to pick up some of the Mario Advance titles and F-Zero titles for cheap (Though I don't think either F-Zero sold well here, we didn't even get the 3rd one, so probably won't happen).

I expect Mario Kart to be a Players' Choice.
Also, I should start getting my news here more often. I heard this yesterday for the first time, and here's DigitalSpace posting about it over a month ago...

Er, okay... that was random...
But still hilarious. Who knew Ganondorf spoke like Sean Connery?
