I'm looking to pick up a copy of worms armageddon. I used to have the Dreamcast version a few years ago. I was looking to either pick it up for playstation, N64 or since I will eventually get a Dreamcast, do you recommend I wait? I remember the graphics being incredibly smooth... Any info you all could provide me with in addition to a simple choice would be appreciated mucho....

Thanks!!

Honestly, I'd say pick up World Party, for all the new weapons and such. The PS1 version is quite good, but with low-res graphics, and the Dreamcast version is even better. The NGage version is a really good port, considering what they were working with. Almost everything made it intact. It ended up pretty rubbish on the GBA though.

Or you could just wait for Worms Open Warfare on the DS and PSP in a couple months.

I don't rock any handlhelds at the moment. Were you talking about Worms World Party or Armageddon in your review? I don't know much about World Party. Isn't it 3-D?

Nope, World Party is plain ol' 2D Worms. I'd say it's my favorite one of the series. They didn't start putting out the 3D garbage until just after that one. Open Warfare is also apparently going to be 2D.

Yeah, just get World Party. The PS1 version is slower and runs at a low frame rate. Surprisingly, the N-Gage version has tons of extras and more customization. For consoles though, the DC is the way to go, no question.

Dreamcast, Dreamcast, Dreamcast.
I also 2nd just going for WWP.

BTW: PC Is good too; each team can have a different voice suite. The standard voice for any game I play is 'Angry Scot'.

PC is the best, but I have to admit the ninja rope controlling is a lot easier on a controller than a keyboard.

The PC version has Armageddon, World Party, and #2 in a Three-Pack

Haven't read the read of the thread but the obvious choice is the PC. High res, mouse/keyboard. Its the natural home of Worms (well, Amiga i guess also, but thats dead and was PC-like anyway)

How many people taking this poll have played all 3? How many people taking this poll have even held the N64 version in their own hands? Man, thats a tough one to find.

What about the Gboy version?

I've only tried the playstation and PC version, but I would definately recommend the PC version because it has better graphics, a few more weapons (molotov cocktail, flamethrower, etc) and the controls are a little easier.
I dont want to say that the playstation version is no good....it is, but on the playstation console, the features are a bit lacking.

However you do it, WA is a great game!

I've only played the dreamcast version of Worms Armageddon but was very impressed with the graphics. I really don't have a basis for comparison, but traditionally don't play games on PC. I'm sure it looks great on a PC though. I've been checking out ebay, and I can only find a couple for sale on dreamcast, Playstation and N64 at a given time. N64 does seem to be the hardest to find and hasn't gone for under 30 bucks in the past couple weeks. I'm going to hang out for a while I guess.

I have ! :-P I consider myself a real Worms fan and I'm the proud owner of an N64 (PAL) version.

I'd say it's a tough choice between the N64 and Dreamcast versions. The DC version is slightly nicer to look at, because it runs at a higher resolution. But I think the N64 controller suits this game better. That makes it my favourite console version so far, at least until the DS one is released.
