I finally found a 360!!

I couldn;t belive my eyes... I was out of town visiting my family when I stepped into a walmart to pick up supplies for my grand mothers birthday party, I thouhgt I'd just check the games section out of curiocity when I saw a glowing green box @_@ ...well more like a puke green actually..:P only three of them left so I snagged one up for me and one for my dad with a copy of quake4.

niote to casula gamers: don't get q4 as your first game. it's a barebone port with bad framerate. but I had to get it. I'm such a quake fan! It looks good! the enemy models have a very hi contrast to to the background in hd making it feel more like you can reach in the screen and grag them.

ok, with out spoiling anything, is there any extra game content after beating it on hard? (besides the bonus disk)
Isn't there some mods or extra levels on Live? I'd like ot see a remake of quake one maps.

I was at a local EB Games yesterday. The guy told me they only just filled all of their pre orders this week. They had 3 cores in stock. I already have my premium, so if anybody here wants one, and you are near Whitby Ontario, its the EB Games beside Wal-Mart.

yeah it's quite easy on the eyes for a console too. if not plain sexy! I did see that my system is one of the earlier units. mfr date is august and I found out one of the easiest ways to scratch a dvd fubar... @_@ by sitting the console it on it's side while playing a game :( ...we live and learn LOL

A buddy of mine said he saw a few in Future Shop the other day too - sounds like the trickling has begun, so if you're looking for a 360 you might have to wait a *little* while but you should be able to secure one!

Why would they do that? The Core is such a rip off its not funny. It is a shame that people have to buy a Core because there are no premium units in stock.

BTW, XBLA games range from 20-30 MB, and can go up to 50 MB (that is the spec). The Memory Card is all of 64 MB.

Plus, no Hexic without the hard drive!

I picked up pgr3 a few days ago. at first I wasn't really into it. it's okay so far. but the track design seems a little bit boring. The route editor is cool and it has some nice options.. I gues I can't judge a online game by it's single player mode. LOL I'm actually starting to get into a bit.

I'm really having a blast with my 360. Quake get's pretty scary scary at times.. quake 4=best enemy AI in a game yet imo. I'd say it scared me as bad as resident evil the fist time. cool enemy designs too.

Yeah Quake 4 is fun, but too bad about like you said, the framerate.. everyone is screaming for a patch, its just a bump in the road, it's not too bothersome, just dissapointing its not optimised as COD2 is.

Get COD2, you'll be surprised about the framerate diffrence.

Also, if you want to be scared shitless...... buy condemed, last time I was so paranoid and jumped was Resident Evil, when the dog jumped out that freakin window.

HA HA. Kameo is a great game. It is not a kids game. Just upgrade your Elemental Warriors or you too will go through the same fits of rage that Gamereviewgod had at the final boss.

After single player is done there is co-op, which almost feels like a different game. It is very streamlined in comparison to the single player campaign.

Download the demo of Condemned at least. I have gone through it a couple times, superb title.

I dont see why to get a Core Console when you can't even save your game?? My friend picked up a 360 Core console at Wally recently along with King Kong, and he took both of them back the next day. I understand why also. If you are gonna get a 360, get a Premium package

If you can't find anything else? I just decided to buy a Core
(for a bit more than retail), snag a hard drive, the HD cables and a headset. It cost me around $150 or so extra after all was said and done (including the more than retail bit), but hell, I've been playing my 360 and enjoying it for 2 months now. It was worth it.

I saw 3 core systems today at Shopko of all places. I passed since the core is such a rip-off...but now that I've actually seen a 360 and not bought it, I guess I can't complain anymore. Seriously though, if Shopko is getting re-stocked, they should be everywhere in the next few weeks.

I thought Amped 3 was very good--an under-rated launch title. The overall feel and style of the game was very well done, and the cut scenes are completely random fun. Its a style you'll either love or hate. I thought t was great. The constant references to old-school classics throughout the game is a neat touch--I won't spoil which games they cover, but there's some funny parodies.

Some of the objectives get old--go through X number of hoops in X amount of time... do it faster to get better medals... etc., but thankfully you don't NEED to finish all of them to get through the story. The first three mountains are HUGE. Really neat to explore. After that though, the mountains are much smaller, and less interesting, though much more difficult to get large combos out of without the "butter" moves.

The difficulty is fairly easy. You can beat the game (like I did) without getting good at the more advanced styles. Only after I beat it did I learn that if you nudge the thumbstick a given direction during spins, grabs, etc. that you can get huge scores. Getting all achievements was a challenge, but they are all realistically attainable with some practice--you don't need to play ridiculous numbers of hours or online games to get points, unlike some other titles (I'm looking at you Quake and Perfect Dark).

Amped 3: One of the best at launch, but very under appreciated. People will look past just because no Xbox Live play. It is a shame too. The story is wacked, and LMAO hysterical. It is a huge game too, seven mountains and lots of stuff to do. I did not get bored with all the Magic Circle, and other quests.

The Lesser Snow God and Greater Snow God Achievements will be the harder ones to get, but are not impossible.

One of my favorite launch titles.

NFS: Most Wanted: Biggest surprise for me at launch. The new lighting engine in the 360 version makes this game shine! Also one of my favorite launch titles for the 360. Bringing cops back was the best thing they could have done. It is just a shame there is no Xbox Live Pursuit Mode. It is still fun to race on Live, and the offline career is great too. You are going after 15 people on the "Blacklist" in the city of Rockport. All achievements are for beating Blacklist members.

Lots of fun being chased by eight cops, and a helicopter.

Tony Hawk: AW: I bought this game at launch. I hardly play it. It is an Xbox Game with *slightly* better graphics. If you like TH games you will like it, but I question the $60 price tag.

Three weeks ago I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.

Our local shop had 3 premiums come in for some more launch prebookers. Two of the guys bailed and I was offered a one time only chance to buy one of the spare ones at that moment. I didn't have to be asked twice, especially with Oblivion around the corner.

I picked up the three racing games. RR6....very slick and getting difficult. PGR3.....fantastic to just goof around at since it's VERY easy. I dislike the new garage system though. A pain in the ass to navigate through due to the long load screens. Biggest surprise for me as well, was Need For Speed Most Wanted. Huge eye and ear candy...the cars SOUND fantastic, very photorealistic on a high def TV and frantic as hell if you have a car with a high bounty on it. I have one car that I can't even drive a few blocks before the cops are after me. IMO drag racing is harder to control than in NFSU.

I'm glad that I decided to buy the system because it most certainly is an experienceto behold. I thought that the original Xbox was incredible but the 360 takes it up several more notches indeed.
