I wonder if Capcom ever seriously considered making enhanced versions of these two RE titles like they did 1 for the Gamecube? Taking into account how great these two games are in the series, it always bothered me to know that they will probably never get their shot at "enhanced glory". Do you think Capcom assumes it wouldn't be profitable at this point, or they just don't have the time and resources to pull it off? Would they consider letting another developer take a shot at it?

I wouldn't mind an enhanced RE2, but I've always thought RE3 should have been a side story and Code Veronica was the real Resident Evil 3...

I can't remember when or from where, but I think Capcom has gone on record saying they weren't going to be REmaking 2 and 3.

They already were for the Dreamcast I thought? And then ported over to the Game Cube
I would think one remake would be enough for any game.

I'm talking about having them done again with the same type of graphic and gameplay overhaul that Resident Evil 1 got for the Gamecube, not just straight or slightly improved ports. RE 2 & 3 would look incredible with graphics on the same level as RE 0 & 1 for the cube, or better yet, RE 4. Seems like Capcom has a history of cashing in on a game as long as they can with sequels and/or enhanced remakes. This is why I thought improved versions of RE 2 & 3 would be a given for them. Like I mentioned before, if they don't have the time or resources to do it they should consider letting another developer take a shot at it.

Those were more like (nearly) straight ports of the PS1 versions.
I doubt we'd see any ports using the RE4 engine, but I'd love to see ports with the REmake engine. Alas, I think that ship has sailed, as we already have the straight ports this generation (on GC). Maybe we'll get them in the next gen, during the wait for RE 5?

I'd like to see Resident Evil 2 and 3 remade into one product that flows in chronological order. That would kick much ass.

with the way that capcom flog then reflog there products
then it is a sure fired bet that we will see REmakes of these
titles eventually, but hey they might just get lazy and repackage
the same games together.
Id like to of seen RE 2 and RE3 REmade for the NGC and
released all together in a deluxe RE pack, it would of been
very grand, ah well....... :/ :(

I'm ashamed to say that I have never played Resident Evil 2 or 3 on any system however, I have RE 4 for the Gamecube and don't remember having so much fun playing a game. Anyway, if I really like RE4 will I also like Part 2&3? I have read some places that the control of the character is weird (not like RE4). What do you think?
Also: While I know there is nothing as grand as RE4 for the Cube but since I really liked it, can anyone recommend any other game that is along the same lines? I beat RE4 twice now and am ready for a new one.

A enhanced RE2 would be really awsome, in the style of the remake of RE1 on gamecube that is.

That's a hard one to call. My guess is that you probably wouldn't because you would be taking a step backward in terms of visuals and control mechanics. They're both awesome games and you should definitely give them a try but they won't give you the same rush as RE 4.

If you're talking about just the Gamecube I say give RE 0 and RE 1 a try if you haven't already. You still have the dated control mechanics but the visuals are right up there with RE 4. If you're talking about the other systems you might want to give the Silent Hill series a try, starting with number 2.

Now that I'm playing RE4, I honestly dont think I'll ever be able to play an older RE ever again. It's just wayyy too kick-ass in comparison to even bother. Even though they arent zombies, its good enough.

BenWell, since RE3 was actually called Biohazard:Last Escape, and not Biohazard 3, Code Veronica may very well be the 'true' Resident Evil 3.
Anyway, I'd be interested in finding out just how much of an improvement the Dreamcast and Gamecube versions of RE2/3 are over the PSX.
Do they actually have higher resolution renders for the backgrounds, or more detailed models and textures?
(I remember the N64 version of RE2 running at 640x480 instead of 320x240 like the PSX original.)
Are the audio and cutscenes improved at all?
What about extra features or scenarios?

I said it once and many times....but Resident Evil 2 deserves a damn remake just like Resident Evil 1 on Cube.
Imho, that's what MADE Resident Evil what it is today.
From my understanding RE 2 and 3 for DC were ports of the PC version. Suports 480p
While the GC version has ports from the PSX. interlaced only.

RE2 is a PC port.
Yet RE3 is a tad different, because it's the only verison that added in two additional costumes not found on the PC or PSX version..plus Merc Mode (Mikhail, Carlos, Nicholi) is already unlocked for you at the very start.

How about a box set? Like RE 1, 2, 3 and Code Veronica all together remade.

That would be one helluva sweet box set! :D As for Code Veronica being remade, if Capcom actually did it that would be great but in my opinion Code Veronica holds its own fairly well when compared to the RE 0, 1, and 4 in terms of graphics. In a strange sort of way, it almost seems like the series is incomplete without having enhanced versions of RE 2 and Nemesis. It's well known that most of the RE games have been cash cows for Capcom, unfortunately it seems like they're forgetting two of them that definitely need some more milking.

REmaking Resident Evil 2 and 3 would be amazing, it will never happen. Especially with the next-gen systems coming out. They do deserve it though!

It's Biohazard 3: Last Escape

It was weird in that due to how the game was divided up, Biohazard 3 was both an interquel to parts 1 and 2 and a sequel to part 2 whereas Code Veronica was more of a Biohazard 4 than part 4 ever was.
If anything they should have given Code Veronica the number and part 4 the different name.
I was a bit disappointed when Code Veronica didn't implement the improved staircase navigation from the third game. Since they were in development at the same time, you'd think that they would have nicked a few ideas from each other :(

If 3 came first, and had that Tyrant and other strange goings-on, would it make much sense? I'd like to see it just on principle, though.
Eh...I really like 2 better than 3 :P

The tyrant evolves from the first half of three, to two, to the second half of three...so it all makes sense :)
The weakest point of three was the ammo creation system. I guess mixing herbs wasn't enough and they had to get something more illogical and abstract :(

Yes, I agree.
They should REmake RE4, so then it will be an actual RE game.
