Cost- about $6 per stand. Each stand is made of poplar with two square dow rods holding the marquee up. The lights are 13" flourescent tubes, about $8 each at Wal Mart. What do you all think?

I don't know if it's the picture, but the white light around the display is blinding and washes it out. but other than that I love it. It is near impossible to find stuff like that around my area. I've kept my eye out for stuff like that over the past couple years that I've been into collecting, and haven't seen one for sale, in person, yet.
sweet job

Makes for a very attractive night light... :)

That's very similar to how I had the marquees set up in the last game room I put up before moving into the current house:

And trust me when I say that, while photos tend to flare out the light "spillage" behind an "open-backed" display like that, it doesn't look that way to the naked eye.

That looks great, I love the nintendo boxes around them.
I look forward to moving into a larger house so I can begin setting up my own room of doom (currently sprinkled through my house right now).

Looks nice! :) But is the light leaking from the back or is it boxed?

Thanks for all the great responses! PDF is right, the photo does exaggerate the white light, though I am going to get some thick posterboard and make and top out of it. Eventually I will have one on each shelf, I just wanted to see what two were like first, to make sure it was doable.

Possibly. I'd like to have a Fantasy and maybe a Popeye...
