Hi,
I'm working on a new section on my web site where I'll be reviewing Famicom Disk Card games. There is no much information out there, so I hope this new section will be useful.
However, how many of you own and play FDS games ? I have many disks but I'm always scared to break the system, those drive belts are tricky to find, and disks are fragile too. I often play on emulators instead.

Having a review on, Famicom disk games isn't a bad idea 8-)
I just started collecting for it myself.
I only got 3 games so far for it.
Super Mario Bros
Legend of Zelda
Metroid
Of corse i'm "not worry" about getting every game for it.
I'm just, gonna buy the games i want to play the most for it ;)
Go on ahead with the reviews for it.It would help gamers that are interested on picking one up.

I own and play quite a few games for the FDS, including:
Zelda 1 and 2
SMB 1, 2, and All Night Nippon
Both Eggerland (Lolo) games
Kid Icarus
Vs. Excitebike
Trust me, this is in no way a complete list.

Here's a good place to start concerning a list of FDS games. Have something that's not there? Improve it.

I own a (small) boxful of FDS games. Most of them are sealed. I also have a Sharp Twin FC, but that's new in its box, so again, I'm just holding onto this stuff for that legal feeling ;)
My FDS games, from memory (assume sealed unless otherwise noted):
Akumajo Dracula (I also have the uncommon cartridge rerelease, which I'd rather stick with; dunno if it has any save ability though)
Metroid (finally got the flyer for this as well, from GaijinPunch - one of my personal grails!)
Twinbee - inner disk/case and manual
Patlabor - just disk/case
Shin Onigashima Kouhen & Zenpen (1 & 2)
Zelda 1 & 2 (also have the Zelda no Densetsu 1 cartridge re-release)
Karin no Ken (Sword of Karin, it's an early Square title...you can see I was just buying stuff I have no way of playing properly)
vs. Excitebike
Nazo no Murasame-jou (Think Zelda, but more Japanese. Yay! Also, the main character...is a guy. Shucks!)
I also have the "Disk Hand Case," in its baggie (250 yen price tag still affixed!) Never been used.
So yeah, I like FDS. I don't like the idea the disks can die, though.
Some games I'd like to get:
Final Command (Jackal, essentially)
That Indiana Jones ripoff from Konami (same team as Castlevania, I'm pretty sure)

Thanks for your replies. I was just wondering if a FDS section in my site would be worth it or not. And it looks like it is :)
I have a bit more than 30 disks, so I'll try to review all of them. I was very surprised by some of the games like Moero! Twinbee or Esper Dream. Even with Metroid, I wasn't expecting the Disk version to have different sound effects that the cart ! I also read somewhere that Samus as a girl was only introduced in the cartridge version. Has anyone finished Metroid on disk to verify this ?
>That Indiana Jones ripoff from Konami
Do you mean Arumana no Kiseki ?

She's still a woman, but you can't play through again as armorless Samus.

Haha, yup, good o'l Miracle of Alumana.
Want that game if for nothing else than the card - but it looks pretty darn good too. I'm embarassed to say that I never got it working on an emulator :embarrassed:
I do believe that GaijinPunch scanned the flyers I've bought from him already and put them on his site, but I might rescan them.

I have one of those with the box (or at least the cardboard thingy around the disk). Do they fetch up to 10000 yen ?.. that's pricy...
I bought one just for the sake of it... and also to review it in my site.
