X-Arcade Help, Please!

So I got my X Arcade, but I can't get the stick to work with MAME. It works on my desktop, on the frontend, etc, but it won't register at all during gameplay. I can get the 2nd player stick to work on vs. Excitebike, but other than that, nothing. Anyone have any ideas? I've looked on MAME.net and the x arcade faq page, but I haven't been able to find anything out.

I'm not familiar with the guts of an x arcade,
but you may need to enable joysticks through properties
in Mame (controllers)

A fresh install of the latest Direct X might do the trick.

Done both...I can't understand why it works with everything but Mame...Mame has an xarcade.cfg file, but I don't know how to edit it. I know in MacMame, theres an actual control setting where you can configure your keyboard, joystick, etc, but Mame on PC seems to have the arrow keys as the default, and ctrl for the fire button.

Keep the ideas coming if you can :)

You can remap keys if you hit tab when you have a game running.

Select "input (general)" ...hit enter
Scroll down to what you want to change...hit enter
Press the button you want on the X Arcade.

When you're done, scroll to "Return to main Menu"...hit enter
Then select "Return to game"... hit enter
