"Metroid Gets Voice Chat
Nintendo will enable talking in the upcoming first-person shooter.
by Craig Harris

February 9, 2006 - Nintendo today revealed that Metroid Prime Hunters, the Wi-Fi enabled Nintendo DS first-person shooter hitting the system on March 20th, will be the first game in the Nintendo DS library to support voice chatting over the internet.

Players will be able to chat with players via the built-in microphone on the Nintendo DS before and after a match-up. Players can converse with anyone on their friend's list established through Friend Codes by clicking on the Chat icon in the game's lobby system.

Metroid Prime Hunters will support up to four player deathmatches over Nintendo's free Wi-Fi Connection service. We'll have more on the game as we get closer to its release date."

No that would be anything Xbox Live. At least only friends can talk to you on here.

Nice. I didn't see how typing with the stylus would've worked in a FPS. Now, only if the game ends up not sucking... (I didn't like the demo).

Oh wait... I'll probably end up buying it anyway. :embarrassed:

I'm glad they added this. I can't wait to get this game. It will finally get me to stop playing MK DS.

That will tell you how cool Mario and Halo is...then complain about Metroid not being cool like Halo....am I right? :)

I'm glad they added it but i'm skeptical about how well it will work. So far i haven't had the best luck with the ds and voice and since you're using the mic and speakers instead of a headset, they're going to have to work very hard to prevent echo.

However if it's pulled off right then WFC finally has some real potential.

that's a really good sign I am not excited for the game

I didn't like the demo that much but with voice and if nintendo pulls it off right might be really good

we will see should be interesting.

Before and after. But not during. Hmm...
