You know, after finally fixing my two broken Dreamcasts, I've been playing all the fighters I can. The system itself is just built for them, of course. This leads me to question if there's a true list of all the fighters on the Dreamcast. I'm going to list as many as I can here, and hopefully you guys can fill in the missing spots. Basically, this is the Dreamcast Fighting game listing and then discussing thread. The list will include imports.

Should you? I like the Neo version more, but that was also $94 more. I personally wasn't a fan of the 3D backgrounds or the music restarting between matches, but it's KOF98 with tons of unlockable art.
For you, yes.

I'm actually thinking about getting KOF 2000 instead. I know I like this one cuz I play it on MAME all the time.

Did that have the Strikers? I forget, been awhile O_O
I think you could turn'em off anyway's, or was that 2001?
I can't count how many hours friends and I put into Soul Calibur. What an awesome game. The graphics were insane at the time. The characters/fighters were very good as well. One of my favorite fighting games on any system. The special moves were tough to implement though, but I guess that is with any fighting game that requires multiple directions and button combos to execute a move. It is probably more or less because I am getting older and my hands are not as quick on the draw as they use to be.

Do NOT buy Garou if you love your Dreamcast!
Yes, the game is awesome, but it also has a very annoying feature: all the voices are STREAMED from the disc, which means the system keeps accessing sounds all the time and even takes up to two seconds to find the sound and output it. Even if it's a simple grunt.
I love the game but I sold it because of that. Now I regret it, but what can you do...

2000 you have to have a striker I'm pretty sure. I know for sure, that in 2001, you can trade a striker for an extra power stock. Personally keibler, I'd recommend getting 2000. Plays awesome on DC and it's got a lot more playability IMHO. TONS of fighters and better gameplay. Plus I've always hated Rugal in 98, but I'm not a very good KOF player so....
Dreammatch 99 is kof 98 and has no strikers
Evolution is 99 and has strikers
2000 has strikers as well and is my fav KOF next to 2k3 love it on the neo and the DC version is very good (import only
2001 import
2002 import
2003 didn't have a dc release.

I was just playing Street Fighter Alpha 3 on my DC the other day. Part of the reason was to convince myself that I didn't need to shell out $39.99 for the PSP version that was released this week. It worked. I love the DC.
...and don't forget, if you are playing any sort of fighter on the DC, you'll need one of these:

With the buttons and stick swapped out for Sanwas or Seimitsus.
I've put the most playing time into Soul Calibur & MK Gold.
The DC is a great fighting fans machine.

Well, I currently only own 1 fighter on the DC (Which I'm sad of) and it's what I got the other day. I was so happy to find Marvel vs. Capcom for $1 at a Pawn Shop and it was a bit scracted and missing the booklet, but works flawlessly when I played it that night. I really enjoy a lot of the fighters that came out on the system though, especially the Powerstones. There's 1 game I'd love to get though, Dynomite Cop. I played it back in high school and loved it to death. It was so funny to play and kick people's asses with a large trout!

As to the "official" Agetec sticks, while talkin 'bout DC fighters and agetec...
I have 3 of them, and ALL of the DC domestic fighters... many DCs as well...
What is it with there being TWO colors of silk screen logos on the 3 sticks i have...
One is in grey/black (DREAMCAST logo) and 2 are more of a white color?
Is one import and the other domestic?
Any info on this?
btw... DC is my FAV console just cause of the fighters... which i bought a lot of when th esystem was discontinued and gamestop/ best buy were dumping them... my BEST purchases made yet!

I don't like 2D fighting, but i love Melee battle fighting, and seeing as the Dreamcast has the best (Power Stone 2), I can't help but love it.
VF 3 is by far the greatest fighter of all time. DC is one of the greatest consoles for fighters for sure!

For me, Soul Caliber's one those fighting games I can always come back to and still kick a fair amount of butt in. Learning Fatal Fury: MoW now.

what a completely unnecessary reason to get rid of a game.
i have the neo version, but if i didn't, i wouldnt get rid of the dc version for something that has NO EFFECT ON THE GAMEPLAY

I want to get Last Blade 2 for the Dreamcast, but the game is edited (no blood). Any other things were edited from the US release?
I still want to get the DC version, but the no blood thing drives me crazy!

The SNK ports suck ass but that might be because I have them on MVS so I am comparing them directly to the original. Those boarders on the sides kill me.

While censorship does bother me at times, I've yet to bothered by it in the DC SNK games. I barely even notice it in LB 2, and realistically, I'm too busy trying to win in those games to care about some minute change to the original version of the game that I haven't played.

Project Justice is still one of my most prized posessions. It is so much fun to play. I play that and MvC2 more than anything on my DC.

Yeah the Dreamcast had some great fighting games. I liked Soul Calibur which is still one of my favorites. Also Power Stone was a awesome game. The complete 3-D gameplay was very fun. Also all the Marvel vs Capcom games are awesome. I really hope there is another Power Stone and still no soul Calibur so far has been as good as the first. You are right the Dreamcast had alot of great fighters.

The Dreamcast fighter I want the most is Last Blade 2. That game iis just so smooth and polished. It's really a shame that it will never be as popular as some other fighting games. I don't think I have ever seen a copy in person yet. I've seen it online a few times though. The Dreamcast still has some very desirable exclusives.
