Is it just me, or is ti that there's more than one version of columns for the game-gear? It seems that at almost every store that I go to, they have at least two/three versions of it written in english.

Well, there's Columns and then there's Super Columns...other than that, I don't really understand what you're saying.
Also, a lot of European copies of games got dumped into the US market.

There is only Columns and Super Columns.
Columns was an early release, and basically exactly the same as the original game on Genesis.
Super Columns was a later release, and basically the same as Columns but with new fire jewels.
Line up 3 or more fire jewels in a row, and they will burn up every jewel in their path on either end of the row they're in.
The only other Columns game for a handheld is Columns Crown for the GBA. It's basically the same as Columns but with 24 special jewels that you have to collect for the crown.

Don't forget the crappy version that was on the Sega Game Pack 4-in-1 cart.

It also has an incredibly difficult story mode and an improved flash game (compared to the original GG game)
I know this because I bought super columns this weekend for $3 Cdn :)

I thought you were talking about label variations. I know of three that are available. I know because I have all three.
