SUPER CASTLEVANIA IV 4 SNES NEW FACTORY SEALED W/ LINE! (http://cgi.ebay.com/SUPER-CASTLEVANIA-IV-4-SNES-NEW-FACTORY-SEALED-W-LINE_W0QQitemZ8259560520QQcategoryZ62053QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem)

What a great deal on a sealed R1, eh? No it's not mine.

It is mine and yes, considering only 1 out of 20 of the Factory Sealed Super Castlevania 4 has the VERTICAL LINE SEAM, with vent holes, and "made in japan" writings on the back of the box (same goes for Contra 3), prce is quite reasonable

The last one of that kind got sold for more than $200, and i saw it sold 2 years ago for $300+ ( same for Contra 3, the Majesco one goes for $50, the vertical line seam went for $200-300 )

Please don't speak that way when you don't know much about Factory Sealed games....soon you'll say Final Fantasy 3 Factory Sealed is worth $20..

It's been a while, but I won a factory sealed Super CV IV for $30 (back around 2001/2002). I never actually recieved it, though, due to having given the seller the wrong shipping address (whoops!) I did get a refund for that one.

Don't suppose the game's gotten THAT much rarer in the years since. The supply might have dried up a bit, though.

It's still an R1. Surprising that I don't have a copy considering that it's one of my favorite games.

Knowing how eBay is, once the GBA port comes out the price of the SNES original will drop to less than $10. :/

*hugs his still complete yet totally battered copy*

You have confused me very much Adol. I said that was a great deal and then you lamblast me by saying it's a good deal. Why are we arguing unless you believe in reality it's a bad deal and assume everyone else believes the same?

Actually, you said "What a great deal on a sealed R1, eh?". Adding the "on a R1" part makes it seem like you're being sarcastic and really mean the opposite of what you were saying.

At least that was the way I took it.

Seconded, but in his defense, I haven't seen many sealed third-party R1s around. Nintendo stuff, sure, but not a Konami game.

He's 100% right. Finding a majesco copy is easy and cheap but finding a vert. seam original release copy is a bitch. His price isn't unreasonable.

English isn't my native nor 1st language,so please apologize if i don't get your point, but i felt sarcasms here...

For a Factory Sealed Super Castlevania IV, with vertical line seam, made in japan writings on the back of the box, vent holes, that is a DECENT deal..not a great one,not a bad one, just normal&decent (for $150/200)..i saw it going for more than $300 just last year,so i don't see what is the problem

Zelda 1 NES is a R1, but a factory sealed one costs $400-$600,so what's your point?

I felt the sarcasm too so don't sweat it, your language skills are fine. And yeah, $150 is a decent deal.. not horrible, not great. Can't argue with anything you've said.

I just picked up a sealed third party R7 last week for $50. We'll soon know whether or not this is a fair deal by whether or not someone purchases it. If you're so confident of its value then why start the bidding so high and place the buy it now so "low"?

DP rarity rating doesnt always mean higher price. Another example is Super Mario Bros 1. Its R1, but it goes for over $100+ for a sealed copy. A R7 might not be that sought after as a sealed R1.

Because I already have one exactly like it. Did that ever cross your mind or do you just like being a dick for fun?

Who are you bronty? I thought adol was the one selling it.

Bronty-2

He is. If you're trying to insinuate that we're the same person, it would be quite a trick since adol's in france and I'm in canada. But I do own one also. You asked me why don't I start the bidding - because I already have one. Sorry if I got pissy before but I think you're offbase questioning the price, especially given your argument that you found a sealed r7 for $50 (which doesn't mean squat, as other posters have alluded to), and besides he admitted himself that it's only a so/so price at 150. It might not sell.

If you think about it, it's actually not that much considering it's a big, high-profile snes title. But the problem is that most buyers are not educated between the differences between majesco and original copies. If more people knew the deal I think this game would sell easily, but until then it will always be a struggle getting what it "should" be worth.

I think you misread his comment. He asked why the seller put such a high starting bid. I assume that this is an alternative to setting a reserve price. Traditionally, buyers hate to bid on items with a reserve.

Adol
02-16-2006, 03:38 PM
But there is NO reserve in my auction, so what is your point?

The point is: Both you and Bronty need to brush up on your English. ;)

Just kidding, guys. It's always neat to see a great, popular game like Castlevania IV sealed. Let's not ruin it with stupid arguments.

I didn't want to sound rude, sorry if anybody understand my sentences that way.
I'm french, english isn't my native or first language, and i'm trying to speak it as well as i can.

However, i'd definately not be able to write english as well as USA/Canada/UK native people :)

Some people are really desperate.

Seriously, only a few years ago this game was easy to find sealed.

I guess collectors are snapping up the sealed copies. Well, good for them...

No need to be desperate, for getting a legendary game, factory sealed,1st version, for $200

What would you say when people pay $800 for a factory sealed Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy 3 (yes it happened,i backed up the auction,it was on Christmas 2004) then? It's 4 times more.and both are legendary games...but common, $800!

And you'll see what will arrive with Ogre Battle in 2 days

I don't get how paying so much for a game means there desperate?
And yes, you could get this game cheaper 2 years ago, but so what, it's not two years ago. As you know things get rarer the less plentiful they are.
