So I attempt to downgrade my PSP firmware for the first time. I follow the instructions from QJ.net forums or at least I attempted to.

When it says copy the overflow.tiff file into the Photo Directory on your PSP, mine doesn't have one. I'm terribly worried about bricking my PSP.

Does anyone here know whether I should just create a Photo file and continue?

article link has downgrader links you should be able to grab the overflow tif from there

I should have the file as well, since I did a downgrade for a friend, let me see if I can find the stuff.

edit: just to clarify the overflow.tif should be packaged with the downgrader.

The overflow file IS with the downgrader. However, when I went to copy it into my memory stick in the PSP/Photo directory, mine doesn't have a photo directory.

I'm not sure I should just create one. Anybody know?

I'm pretty sure nobody has a PSP\Photo directory unless and until they create it themselves. I haven't done the downgrade (yet), but I created that directory myself in order to take advantage of the Fanjita eBoot loader and I'll be using it when I do downgrade.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you need to create the photo directory yourself.

Yes, just create the directory. /PSP/PHOTO

There is an excellent FAQ over at pspupdates.com about rolling back from 2.00 to 1.50. That's what I have followed when I do mine. I am also very paranoid about bricking mine.

actually if I remember correctly, when you formatted your memory stick using the psp those directories are generated.

but yeah you do have to create the directories if they don't exist

Alright, apparently I'm a dumbass who never formatted his memory stick. :embarrassed:

Thanks all.
