I remember Mario on Ice...I went to see it when I was a little kid.

You know, I think I remember an ancient issue of Nintendo Power where Nntendo tells readers that they will never have to worry about a virus getting on their NES due to the nature of the technology.
Then this video came out. Talk about a mixed message. Some leet haxor must have had some omg romz!1 on his 386 PC.

Haha. Ya, this was pretty wierd to watch. I too never knew you could h4x0r a NES b0x0r. Poor kids, having to watch such a show must have left scars. Is it possible that the Mario could go digital and fight viruses in a special Revolution game?

Here's the thing... He blasts a Goomba and *POOF* it's gone. My assumption is video effects.
But if you saw the show live, what'd they do? That Goomba ain't just going to vanish like it did on the video...

I read about Mario on Ice awhile back ago. I don't think it was performed "live" like they make it look. They shot footage of an audience and added that into the video to make it look like there were people there watching the show...but there really wasn't. At least that's what I read.
But ubersaurus says he went to see it when he was a little kid. Maybe that performance was done differently then this one?
At first it was funny then I became bored then I turned it off. God I cant imagine having to sit there and watch that crap.

I saw a commercial for this "on ice" nonsense on a tape my GF recorded way back in 1990/1991.

Why do I not remember seeing advertisement for this when I was younger? I've been to EVERY Disney on Ice, I would remember if a Mario on Ice was advertisted, I would've SCREAMED to go. Perhaps it never came around to Boston. Grrr...
The part I find the most unbelieveable is that Alyssa Milano never heard of Super Mario. Then again, she's not the brightest light on the street. LOL
EDIT: I told my boyfriend about this, and when I said Mr Belvidere played King Koopa he said "Who?" My boyfriend's never heard of Mr Belvidere?! Have I been dating for 5 years someone who was under a rock in the late 80s? I LOVED that show when I was a kid, not that I remember any specifics. Why would an upper-middle class family have a butler?! How silly.

Was she ever interviewed in Nintendo Power? Those interviews always had some celeb talking about some game.
