I did a search for this topic but came up short. So if this has already been discussed, Mods, do your duty.

Hey, it looks exactly like Mother 1 and 2. It's still nice to see how it is coming along though.
Discuss!
FUCK YEA! THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! BAAAABY!
p.s. Did NES color his hair?

There is a god :rocker: . Another freakin sweet earthbound gaming coming our way. If it sells bad Id buy 10 copies :D .
Ah Earthbound, one of my first RPGs and can still make me laugh to this day. Hopefully they will release it here, I'd rather buy the sequel to a childhood favoriate instead of waiting for someone to translate it.

What system is this coming out for? DS or GBA?

I think it's GBA but don't hold me to that.

Yes, it's going to be released on the Advance.

1000% AWSOME FILLED.
Just in time for my gf to ask for a GBA, kind of odd, she's not a gamer, just likes puzzle games..

Its a brand new storyline (with links to Earthbound 64), and his name was Ness, not NES :P

Okay guys... that's not Ness. I highly doubt that Ness will appear anywhere in the game. The new character's name is probably Vance.

Maybe I'm just imagining things, but doesn't the ostrich skeleton in the second pic look kinda like Q*Bert?

Even though I have my DS and GBA SP, I'll pick up a Micro just for this game.

Oh hell yes. Please Nintendo, localize at least Mother 3, but it would be awesome if you did Mother 1+2 also. :-P

I would be much more interested if mother 1+2 came out here first. Without those 2, I doubt I'll get number 3.
I wasn't OVERLY impressed with earthbound. It was fun, and a great game, but by far not one of the early nes systems better rpg's imo.
I'd REALLY love to play 1+2 on the gba and then play 3 though.
Edit - I can REALLY see nintendo pulling their usual shit with this though. Here's the scenario:
Nintendo releases mother 3 in US
It sells horribly
Nintendo says "see, we told you it was a bad idea"
Nintendo refuses to port over mother 1+2 based on mother 3 sales
As opposed to releasing mother 1+2 first to get newer players interested in the series, and having mother 3 sell WELL.

Earthbound 2/Mother 3 sell horribly here? I really don't think that would be possible, since a large fanbase has grown over the years. If anything the release of it here will help the release of Mother 1+2 stateside, then again it is NOA we're talking about.

The size of the Earthbound community is far smaller than that of the Shenmue community, and you better believe if Shenmue online ever happens that it'll never see the light of day over here. Earthbound (or Mother, regardless of what they call it) will never sell well here, it simply doesn't appeal to the majority audience.

OMFG, that is SICK!
I think they may just sack up and release it here.
And I really don't think the fanbase for Shenmue is any larger that that of the Mother series. :hmm:

50 Cent bulletproof made the top 10 selling list when it was released in america.
Think that about sums up that.

Lloyd Banks was sent here to intimidate you.
Since he's here anyway, he also says that he's looking forward to the release of Mother 3 in America, and concedes to your point that releasing Mother 1+2 first would be the wiser course of action.
I'd have to say that I agree with Lloyd Banks.

Seconded.
Some new screen shots to show off and some news!
First - new screens!

Second - other news!
Mother 3 will see a few goodies when launched. So far we have a Micro skin, GBA case and a very nice looking badge.
You can see those here (http://www.1101.com/MOTHER3/).
A franklin badge eh? Very nice indeed.
The skin is disappointing, real boring design.
Great new screenshots though! thx

That's awesome. Although I don't own any Earthbound games, I have played and like them a lot. I've yet to find one for sale but will pick it up once I do.

Has anyone else noticed that you can pre-order the Mother 3 deluxe box at play-asia.com (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-1b-49-en-15-mother%2B3-70-197f.html)? It's $195 for the game, the Franklin Badge, and a Mother 3 Micro. I already have the normal version of the game pre-ordered through them, and I have to admit I'm trying to justify dropping the money and switching my pre-order to the deluxe box.

Man, those screens look fantastic. I see myself importing that one for sure!

And the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the force...
I'll grant you the community sizes (and I am a BIG Shenmue fan). But translating Mother 3 and releasing it during GBA's twilight in the US, has got to be easier and cheaper than localizing the supposed Shenmue Online...
I don't think it will sell great either, but I think it actually has a chance of getting a US release.

Is it me, or does it look all square?
The SNES Earthbound, in constrast, seemed so isometic [Marble Madness esque].
