Yay!
From the pic, it shows that the top screen is for zoomed in mode, while the touch screen is a resized screen of the website. Oh yeah, and it's being made by our favorite mobile Browser developer, Opera.
Although Nintendo hasn't made the announcement yet, Reggie fils-aimes did mention in the past that someone would be making a browser. I don't know if he was implying that Opera would, but it seems like a perfect choice.
You can see it at Operas frontpage. http://www.opera.com

Watching some of those dodgy Mario videos on a DS would be the ultimate Saturday night in!

I axiously await the ability to click links with the stylus. Finally, a reason for me to use my DS for something other than gaming!

All of that is fucking awesome.
Dynasty Warriors / Winning Eleven online? Sweet.
I also like the idea that the web browser (at least sounded like it ) will be in a game card. I like that idea better than a firmware upgrade. However, I would like to see firmware that allows for WPA protection for the wifi connection (the now used WEP is extremely easy to hack).

Hey, atleast it will be better than the PSP web browser. Now I can finally fucking type on the thing.
Gorgeous news indeed.

If this comes stateside, I'm so getting a wireless set-up just for it. I've been waiting for a good console or handheld browser since the PS2 came out (I don't own a PSP).

I don't think they have set a date for a US launch. The Japanese launch of the browswer will be around/in June. Let's just keep our fingers crossed.

Considering that there isn't any region protection on the DS, I'm assuming that we could import it even if it doesn't make it stateside. I'm there there would be a few menus in Japanese, but how much reading is really necessary in order to browse the web (other than what is actually on the web pages)?
As with browsing on the Dreamcast, I'm sure the DS won't be able to do much mulimedia stuff (such as Flash, Java, some Javascript / DHTML). It'll still be all good though.

The typing on PSP doesn't bother me as much as the speed, oh my god is it slow, even in the room with my router.

It's all fine and good, but the important thing is to focus on the DS games, you know?

I'm really sorry if you use mozilla browsers on mobile devices. I do agree that Mozilla makes my favorite PC Browser though.
Anyway, I read the article on the Advanced Network, and there was no official announcement there, just the author pointing out that he did predict a Web Browser would be released. Actually, the article read like an RSS Feed, it had all of the weeks Nintendo news compiled into a single source.
Opera has released more information though, and flash along with email is excluded (although webmail will still be accessible, obviously). Here is the link to get caught up at http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=124948&t=1140124722&page=1#comment1436125
Edit: Wrong link intitially posted.
It is rumored that the DS Lite will use the GBA slot for a RAM beef up. How much ram do you guys think the NDS needs. Maybe 64 mb of ram is good.

Technology speaking, 1GB or higher is attainable in a GBA cart device. With nano technology, memory is samller and getting cheaper. They will probably make a 256mb cart, although hackers should be able to quadruple that with the right tools. Everyone knows more memory makes a browser run smoother, not faster.
