Did that "ALL YOUR BASE" stuff raise Zero Wing's v

You all remember the "ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US" fad awhile back (If you don't know what I'm talking about you should probably keep it that way)... I wasn't doing any collecting then, were people making bank with complete Zero Wing cartridges on eBay around that time?

Certainly did. Considering it's rarity & play value, it wouldn't normally be worth more than about £5 (~$9) complete. However, there were copies sold for some crazy prices (£50+) during the AYB peak.

As I recall one of those "you know you're a hardcore gamer when..." lists included "You made vast profits buying and selling Zero Wing as the AYB craze caught on." Ha!

I picked up a copy myself some time ago. I don't recall exactly what I paid, but not much more than $20 shipped...I hope.

It was released in Japan & Europe, but only the European version has the AYB intro.
These days you shouldn't have to pay more than about £5-£6 complete (~$9-$11), though you still get the occasional inflated one going for £20 or so.

it goes in waves -- when i was trying to get it off ebay - i kept waiting for it to be real cheap - and since then i have seen it go up and down
