Hold on tight as I'll do everything in my power to turn this thread into the powder keg that the FIRST employee thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=79041) got. Would you expect anything less from me? 8-)
I am enjoying my first day off since I began building the store up back in September. I've watched two episodes of Matlock, played an hour of We Love Katamari, and even clipped my toenails. It's luxury, and it's all thanks to...
* drum roll *
Our second employee ever took the helm at the store today, his name is Matt, a college student at Montclair State University (my alma mater). I first met Matt as a customer in the store, and his reverence for all things Nintendo caught my attention. After a few conversations it was apparent that he was a good fit with the way we operate. Laid back, customer-friendly, and happy to share his knowledge. With his Gamestop background he also had the operating skills I was looking for.
I've been on the phone with him a few times today and he's doing a great job there. He provides the safety valve I haven't had until now and the store's growth won't miss a beat.
Oh yeah, you may have seen him poke around in the forums here under the handle "Osaka".
Please join me in welcoming Matt to the ever-growing Digital Press family both on and off-line!

And Joe, you were kidding about Matlock, right? :hmm:
Would I kid around about something as near and dear to me as Matlock? Surely you understand that this it was the finest court/crime drama ever featuring the greatest TV actor of the 20th century.
On this there can be no debate.

I debate:
Monk.
Monk rocks, plain and simple.
OT: Good job Matt. Wish I could work at DP, but alas I live in California.

On that topic, who loves the fact that it's ironic that Ice T stars in a cop show now?

It's even more ironic that they always team him up with Richard Belzer - it's like the new odd couple. And even moreso that Ice-T is the by the book guy of the pair. Ice-T is excellent in Law and Order SVU though.
Welcome Matt, and congratulations!

Glad you found a good employee DP.
And to Matt: Working at a Indy Game store is one of the greatest jobs imaginable."Did it myself for awhile and wish those days lasted forever" Be an honest Employee and dont fuck it up. Im pretty sure Joe is a cool boss.

Although maybe hed make a cool end of level boss too.... I dunno.
My point is How did the Sheriff from Mayberry become a lawyer? Wheres Barney?

The store... I know this is going to sound crazy but is it the same as the shop, or is the store the actual place you buy stuff and not just the place you buy stuff online... if that made any sense.

It's a walk-in "brick and mortar" store. See here for details:

@Sothy: Barney left Mayberry too and became Matlock's free-wheeling neighbor "Ace".

Sorry I haven't posted a reply until now guys, I've been like this ( x_x ) since I left the store Thursday night. I opened up, and had an absolutly fantastic day ^_^ I love working there so much, and not only is it the best store to work at..EVER, but now I have money! It's a college boy's dream, and I'm living it..Bohahahaha! :3
But, the reason I've been gone is because I was at Katsucon (anime convention in Washington D.C.). It was my third Katsucon (9th con altogether), and it was a blast! :D I cosplayed as Naruto and Punk style Toad XD It was good times. And I'm sure some of you fine folk here can appreciate the fact that I saw MC Chris live and met and talked to him and Scott Ramsoomair of VG Cats. I also got to see and get my picture taken with AYA and seek of the J-Rock band Isabelle (formerly from Psycho le Cemu). My dealers room buyings consisted of:
25 Mario Party randomly boxed figures (got the whole set, w00t!)
4 Disgaea figures
Disgaea Pvt. Prinny plushie
Ice Climbers watch
Super Mario Brothers portable speaker (this thing is amazing! My iPod is hooked up to it playing the Megaman 4 soundtrack right now =p AND..is has a button that makes the sound when you get a mushroom! XD)
Ice Climbers Cell phone strap
Ok wow, enough about Katsucon XD I doubt any of you were THAT curious as to where I've been =P
But in short, the store is amazing, and so are you guys! Thanks for the warm welcome!! ^__^ I look forward to meeting those of you in the area in the store, and getting to know you guys on here as well :D
Oh, and for the person who requested pics:

I wonder if there is a "kill all employees" button that can be activated when said employee purchases a Quadrun from some random guy.
Glad it's all coming together man.

That makes me think of a great question.
What is the single most rare thing someone's brought in to trade and had no idea of it's value?
/yeah, kinda off topic, what-evs
