What he wrote is just as good as if he wrote nothing; no one's going to read that junk and its really self-defeating.

I 2nd that. If I wanted to read stuff that would be pointless to read I would just read my work emails.

If you really delve into it, he says he gets between 400-500 emails a week, but later on, he says "Trust me, I get over 100 hundred emails a week from all of you hungry buyers"
so which is it??? 400-500, or 100???? LOL

So its better not to describe how much shipping is and how its shipped? :P

Yeah thats ridiculous. There is no reason to have THAT much information in a description. I've read some before, because I always see his auctions on ebay. It kinda turned me off to buying from him... just too much information to read.

Holy shit, Im glad Im not the only one who has seen this guys auctions before! I have came across a couple decent items I thought about purchasing before, in the past few weeks, and have wanted to also put this up on "Everything Ebay" to see if anyone else has seen all the damn text.
Anyways, all of his text just made me uninterested in his items, I mean if it was something I "REALLY" wanted I would have sorted through it, but I didn't HAVE to have the items, so I didn't bother.

Auction descriptions like these always make me feel that the seller is trying to hide something in all the text and they're hoping that I won't bother reading it all. Legit or not I generally avoid them.

I've dealt with him before. I got Illusion of Gaia. Come to think of it, I haven't even played it yet.

I always try to keep my descriptions very short and to the point. Which makes me better than that guy.

Why describe in such detail how to view his other items? the link is about an inch away from that waste of text.

Same here. Generally, I believe that too much information is better than too little, but in the case of eBay... succinctness is supremely important.

I agree that it is alot of text, but check his feedback, only 1 negative. So obviously he is doing something right. Some neutral tho, but still good feedback.

His shipping costs are rather high. They don't get to a reasonable price until you buy 100 + items from him in that week.

"400-500 emails a week" and "over 100" are both accurate statements.

I stand by my boss's theory at work.
If you write any more than a paragraph, no one will read it.

Agreed. I think most of his paragraphs could easily be boiled down to a sentence or two without ill consequences - in fact, I'm getting sick just thinking of all the time this guy has wasted! Glad he's that well respected, but jeez, that's bordering on superstitious.

"I was going to bid on your auction but while reading the long disclaimer I ran out of time."

The seller could cut out three or four paragraphs by putting up a photo of the back of the game. That way you would know what you are bidding on and what condition it is in.
I rarely bid on auctions that have this much text. You know if there is a problem the seller will just give you the line "it was listed in the description" or "Please read entire discription".
I agree it is self serving and a bunch of crap to hide behind.
