I'll be posting some new items on eBay later today, but I need advice on one of them.
I'm selling a complete 32x + Genesis 2 system, but I'm afraid the whole thing is pretty heavy. I'd dare say that the total package weight will be around ten pounds, and the thing is simply too large to fit in the Flat Rate boxes.
What options do I have? I'm afraid Priority Mail would be too expensive, and I dunno if UPS is any cheaper than that. Comments?
If there's a DHL near you, they're REALLY cheap for heavy stuff compared to USPS, and even UPS and Fedex. I shipped a 62 lb Virtual Boy store display from VA to IL for $18 :) . Yesterday I dropped off a 10 lb box to go from VA to CA and it was $8.50. USPS said it'd be $20 to ship that, UPS said $15, and Fedex said $12.

The closest one is way too far from my hometown. *sighs* Dammit.

I don't think 10 lbs. is heavy enough that there will be that much difference in price between USPS Priority Mail, USPS Parcel Post & UPS.

If it cant fit in one ship it in 2 flat rates. When I sold my NES collection to Nick I shipped him 3 boxes priority and he got all of them.
Calculate the postage for a 10lb box first and see if its cheaper or about the same to $16.20

With smaller items (like 2-4 pounds) the post office seems to be the best deal. Anthing heavier, especially 10+ pounds I ship via UPS. Not only are they cheaper than the post office but delivery confirmation is included and not an extra charge.
Wanna get an even better deal? Do all your UPS shipping at Staples and get one of their business rewards cards. With it you get up to $30 a quarter back based on how much you spend in the store for the quarter. This is in addition to and cash back bonuses you may get from your credit card company as well. If you do a lot of shipping it can translate into getting a decent chunk of change back

Well, there's only two options locally... The only DHL and Staples around these parts are about fifty miles away and I don't own a car. There's only one authorized UPS place in my hometown, but they don't ship on weekends.
And these items won't fit in Flat Rate Boxes. I'm sending a boxed 32x here. :P
Oh well. I had to ask so I could be sure there would be a cheaper way. Thanks anyway. :)
