Hey,

This is something I've been wanting to ask for a while... why does everyone hate Waterworld for VB? I made a poll with the most common complaints that I've heard, but personally I think most are the bandwagon of haters.

My personal opinion is that the game is pretty fun... certainly no Wario Land, but I probably go back and play it more often than I do Wario Land, since I've already completely beaten Wario Land... and Waterworld is more of a game that you pick up and play for 30 mins to see what level/how many points you can get to.

I agree with some that it is a little bit repetitive... to me it plays a lot like an older arcade game, so maybe the haters are the young crowd that want to play a game with totally different levels until they beat the main boss. I guess maybe this type of game doesn't fit in with the rest of the VB game library.

Any opinions? Do classic gamers hate the game as much as young gamers?

It's just so repetitive. Same thing over and over and over. I played it for about 15 minutes when I first got my copy, then stashed it away. Haven't played it since.

The game is confusing and difficult. It can be hard to see where the Smokers (the enemies) are even coming from especially in the later stages.

Alright, those are both valid reasons... I haven't played it (or really any VB games) in a while, but I don't really remember having problems seeing the smokers, but IIRC the overhead 2D view made it easier to see where they were coming from.

I see we've actually got a few fans in the poll too... but nobody is claiming them ;) .

I hate it. I had more fun playing E.T. At least that game made me laugh it was so bad. This game I shut off after 10 seconds in pure disgust.. why? I had no idea what was going on, it looked like floating red shapes, not a game.
