Do you think SEGA will ever produce another game system? I personaly do not think so but I would love it if they did.

Only if they really want to committ financial Hari Kari.

I'm a die hard, unapolegetic Sega fan, but I've resigned myself to the fact I'll never own another new piece of hardware with Sega's name on it.

I don't think so, but I really hope I can be wrong. They did a good job with the DC even though it died a premature death in my opinion. Even though I have gamed for quite some time, and never stopped gaming, the DC was responsible for REALLY getting me back into gaming seriously. ( I mean seriously).

I don't think it matters. Is there really that big a difference in graphics capablities between the Xbox, PS2 and Game Cube or between the DC and the PS2 in the real world, not just on paper? They can all do the same games and there is a lot of overlap in their game libraries. The textures may be slightly better on one and the resolution might be slightly better on another but it's not like the days of CV vs. 2600 or Saturn vs. N64. The system war nowadays seems very boring. Another new system is just another platform for another version of Dragons Lair 3d and Grand Theft Auto to appear on. Who cares what system your playing it on. It's basically going to be the same game. Wouldn't a true Sega fan who really cares about the welfare of the company rather they focus all their energies on producing the best games possible and not on what hardware it runs on. In the end it's all going to be about the games.

I have the Dreamcast, and thats all I'll need. What a great system,in fact I think it is now my fav system.I will always Sega, even if I have to play to their games on another sysytem.

I rather have Sega alive and making games then making a system and then going out of bussiness.Long live Sega! :/ :D

My guess is that the videogames business has evolved into a couple dominant brand names -- Sony or Nintendo or Microsoft -- that will release newer versions of their consoles every few years. There will be a Playstation 3 and a PS4 and so on. Heck, the very state of the industry makes it all but impossible for any new players to emerge on the console scene.

In a way, it's sad that the days of the great system wars are long past. Genesis and Super NES, Atari and Intellivision, Gameboy and Lynx -- good rivalries that really inspired better games. Today, Sony has such a commanding lead in the global market that it's unlikely the Playstation brand will ever be truly challenged. And the market's big enough for the smaller players (XBox, GameCube) to find a profitable niche.
