So, I am interested in collecting these Nintendo comics. The problem is; I have no clue on how many there are or if there are different series of these things. The kind I want to collect are like this (http://i23.ebayimg.com/04/i/06/43/62/09_12.JPG). I do know there is a Legend of Zelda one and a Metroid one that are almost identical to that comic. But I am all out of clues from there.
I also know that there is a series comics called the Nintendo Comic System. Are these like the ones I listed?

The one you linked too is a compliation of the comics that were in Nintendo Power. I believe that they only have the Mario and Zelda ones (I have the Zelda one myself).
The "Comic Series" comics were a seperate "real" comic series made by Valiant...they have a few different ones...a couple Mario series, Gameboy, Zelda, and Captain N. I don't remember off hand how many of those there are...I know that I have most of them (including the variants...there are different sized comics). I believe someone posted a link at one point with a list of all the released comics...I don't think there were that many of them.
But in the end...the comics made by Valiant are not like the one you listed, so you might not be interested in them.

Ah, I see! Well in that case would you mind posting a picture of your Zelda one?
So the one I posted were part of Nintendo Power? If anyone has anymore info on these let me know.

drexel's advice seems right to me. you might do a google or other search on valiant nintendo comics or something. There's also a guy on the cgc boards called "valiantman", I'm sure as hell guessing he would know.
I haven't read those valiant issues but I'm guessing they aren't great. Really the best part of video game nostalgia in comic books are the ads. To me, the back cover of something like spidey 312 (really nice full page ad for nes bubble bobble) is as good as the front cover.
In terms of rarities there's also a twisted metal dc promo comic from a small event that's supposed to be a tough find. Actually if anyone has one I'll pay fifty bucks for it. thanks.

Nostalgia is definately a part of my reason behind collecting these Nintendo Power compliation comics. But the main reason I want to start collecting them is the artwork. The Super Mario Adventure artwork is phenomenal.

I own both the Zelda and the Mario one.. Both great reads. Here's some scans from the Zelda one:

(I know it's in shabby condition.. I acquired it when I was young, and I read it a lot.)

Nice, those actually look to be pretty decent!
The valiant ones look lame, from the covers at least... any body have a scan of an interior page from a valiant?

Earlier Valiant art was pretty rough. Hell when they started their superhero line the early stuff was just as stiff as their Nintendo stuff. Once Barry Winsor Smith wasn't doing alot of it, things shaped up. Hell Joe Quesada got his start there doing Ninjak and hes the Chief Editor of Marvel now.
