I really like the N64 and I want to break into the import scene of it, however if I want to import the console I want to get a cool looking version. I currently own the standard black US model, and the Pikachu edition US model. Although the "Fun" colors are interesting, I was wondering if Japan got any other limited edition consoles? I'd much rather have a unique Japanese N64 then a plain, dull one.

Why not just modify? For the N64, it is incredibly simple, and the system is cheap enough that you can just keep a spare around.

Yeah, I just went with a modification myself, but I can see the appeal of owning the Japanese systems.
Heh, where's Importaku when we need him? :P He's got some snazzy LE models:

So yeah, there are several colors exclusive to Japan, but it may be tricky trying to find someone selling them to a Western audience. Of course, there's always Japan Yahoo and middlemen if you're really desperate to get one of the rarer models.

Wasn't there a Sin and Punishment special edition? If I recall correctly, it was a light green top with a smoke bottom. It may have been the other way around however.
On a slightly off-topic note, as far as "fun" domestic colors go, I've always wanted the Toys 'R Us gold special edition one. I think it would be cool to match my Ocarina of Time cartridge.

Smoke top with green bottom. Fan made, but extremely cool.

I recently watched (and lost) an auction for the Midnight Blue N64....was complete with everything but the manual, I think. :/

Yaay an N64 topic, how did i miss this :D
Ooh bad luck Ed Oscuro the midnight blue editino N64 is one of the rarer ones to find. Those dont turn up even on yahoo auctions japan that often.
My fave edition is the clear black & orange daei hawks edition, i like to call it my halloween edition due to the festive colour scheme.

Must have it. Yeah I have been really wanting to get into the import N64 scene. Are there any import games beside Sin & Punishmen worth buying a import deck for? Or should I just get one of those adapters?

I actually want to get the clear red one, myself.
I did win a clear red N64 last year...but it turned out to be a domestic model. Guy thought it was an import just 'cuz it was colored differently LOL

if youre a Treasure fanatic - Sin & Punishment is an awesome choice, but people are forgetting another Japane only release, also an amazing shooter made by Treasure - Bangai-O!
these two will bring tons of fun to your life(but B-O is quite expensive, usually $60+).
