Which is probably the reason why Call of Duty 2 is not a Triple A title.

Well actually thats not completely right. You are not SUPPOSED to be able to host a "room". But there is a trick to getting it to work...

1. you have to have an Xbox Arcade game downloaded where you can invite people to play and a friend online too.

2. Whoever wants to host goes under Multiplayer -> System Link -> Create Game and then sets up the options just like you want and then or at the same time..

3. other friend invites that person to the arcade game, but the trick is for the host to say "yes" the first time and when it says are you sure you hit "no", then you will be on live in your own room but random people will start joining.

4. the other person must fairly quickly go to "join game session" in order for them to get in the game also without waiting.

Kinda complicated but thats the only way we play now, it will also let more than 8 people in so sometimes it gets more laggy, but being able to pick the map and all options is worth it.

By the way, COD2 is all I really play on my 360 so I consider it probably the best one

CoD2 multiplayer works 1 out of 4 times I try to join/find/play a game. Half the time, everyone drops out. The other half it's a sniper war for 15 minutes in a German farmland.

DoA4's spoiled me.

The only complaint I have is the servers get laggy too often, but I think when its running properly it is easily the best online 360 game, the gameplay is far superior, in my opinion.

But if youhave friends online that method I described very rarely fails.

That is a pretty big "but" for CoD2.

I would say 1/4 is about what I get. Which is really sad. I don't know that I have had ONE game in CoD2 without lag or drop out. Coupled with the fact that you cannot make your own private room, or even pick options for a public room, I cannot see how this game has been getting such high scores.

They must not be going online with it before they review the game. The horribly broken online multiplayer brings it down a couple pegs.

Sure, this is a very fun game online, but I hardly EVER have an online match without some serious lag and or drop out issues. Fun in one minute intervals is not very fun. It is down right annoying.

And I thought they just put out a patch?

I would also like to say I had considered suggesting a CoD2 night for DP until I actually took a look at the Multiplayer options in the game, and played a fair share of deathmatches.

Leaving these things out is just inexcusable.

DOA4 online is even spotty. And don't get me started on how bad Bankshot Billiards 2 is!

Holy freaking hell is that an update to a console game if I ever saw one! I mean that is an impressive list of things that needed to be addressed.

Thanks for the heads up.
