No news on the console though. It looks like they have it slated to release in October.

I'm sure that's just an educated guess. 360 Games had a similar if not identical date for quite some time.

I really doubt MGS 4 would ship 2 months after the console.

PS3 will launch in 2007 in US after limited launch in holiday 06 for Japan, I'm VERY skeptical of any spring release even in Japan, given the very limited, if none info available on launch titles.

Unless Sony wants to do a rush launch with limited titles in US, letting gamers kill each other fighting over less than 500K units available for 06 holiday, which could be ugly. Judging the difficulty MS has with supplying XB 360 even 3 months after launch, I'd say bring it in 2007.

They just made those dates up based on current speculation. There's no real evidence that it's actually going to come out then and there's no reason to actually preorder it through Gamestop, if the way they handled the Xbox360 preorders is any indication.

If Sony repeats their execution of the PS1, PS2, and PSP, expect it to come out at ~6 months after the Japanese launch, which is currently....oh wait, it's not even scheduled yet, because the PS3's specs still aren't finalized yet....

I agree that early next year is when we'll most likely see it, and I strongly doubt we'll see all of those games on launch. Especially Gran Turismo. Never forget that Gran Turismo 3 was supposed to be a launch title for the PS2 in Japan and got delayed what...a year? How about Gran Turismo 4? That got delayed like a year and a half? They ended up selling a beta/demo of the game just to keep people interested....sad.

So yea, put my money on Gran Turismo 5 in time for Christmas of '07.

I wish an actual date would be set. Signs in our store are saying Spring of this year but no definite date though myself and a couple other co-workers who are gamers know it likely won't be out till Fall at the most.
