I'm going to HK for a week next month and I will have a lot of free time. Any suggestions (gaming-wise) on how to spend it???

:D

Go burn down the place all those GBA bootlegs are coming from!

Also, go steal some stuff from Lingjr's shop.

Seriously though, if the amount of classic gaming stuff I've gotten is any indication, it should be easy to bump into classic Japanese stuff there. Dunno how the prices compare to Japan, so if you're into NES you might want to look for the HK NES release, which you probably can't find elsewhere.

Which releases might those be? Any ideas?

Golden Arcade in sham shui po has all your gaming needs. Take the MTR to sham shui po and look for I think exit D. It'll say golden arcade on the map thing of whats out that exit and you'll leave and golden arcade should be right in front of you.

You could find some of these and sell them to me:

I'd be very happy (read: $) if you found Thexder or Mappy.

Otherwise the normal HK NES releases are just like the European Versions.. except these say "Hong Kong Version."I have a few official HK NES games (but would always like more, hehe). The Hong Kong Version NES system has the black plastic from other versions colored a medium gray instead.

To be honest, theres only really one store that has a lot of really classic gaming stuff. Most gaming stuff is on the second floor (golden arcade is a split level type thing, go downstairs for computer stuff, upstairs for gaming) So counting gaming level as a second floor, there is also a third floor in which you have to leave the building to take a different entrance to get to it. This is the major computer section with lots of computer parts and it also has some random internet store that I forget the name (not lik-sang, however they are also in sham shui po, walk down some random street and you'll end up with golden arcade on your right, mcdonalds on your left, cross a street, lik-sang is on the left side of the street)

But I'm getting sidetracked, go to this mysterious third floor and theres a shop somewhere in there that has ridiculous amounts of classic stuff. I almost bought a famicom a/v there, it was something like 120 bucks US.
