Hello all,

First post on the board. I am looking to try out the LCD Top Gun from Lik-Sang on my PS2 and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on the best light gun games to try. Thanks!

The Point Blank & Ghoul Panic series are both excellent (party) shooting games. Unfortunately they are both PS1 games, but i still play them regularly. If you really want PS2 games i've heard the Timesplitter series are pretty good.

Timesplitter? Do you mean TIme Crisis? Timesplitter is a FPS and TIme Crisis is a light gun game.

Time Crisis 2 and 3 are both really good PS2 gun games.

Time Crisis 2, 3 and Crisis Zone are great, vampire night is ok ... other games that i played just sucked :)

But nothing beats the arcade versions ... i just love bigscreen TC2 ;)

Endgame is pretty good. It's a typical Time Crisis clone, but it has a lot of extras and unlockables that make it worth checking out, in my opinion. One of the things you can open up,(or it might be available from the start, I can't remember) Is a sidegame that is a cheesy sci-fi adventure. It's actually more fun than the maingame.

Ninja Assault is pretty good too. There's no crouching behind walls or anything in it. Just a standard shooting-fest.

I quite liked Vampire Night.

Yeah, I think Vampire Night is pretty good as well. Stay away from the Res. Evil light gun games, even though they are practically the only games that use the d-pad. I wish they made more lightgun games for the consoles, but I'm pretty certain that genre is all-but dead, HotD 4 being the last arcade game, and not even out on any home consoles.

RE: Dead Aim isn't THAT bad. It's an ok RE side story imo. Vampire Night is cheesy, but HoD2 cheesy and that means fun. Only shooter (or one of 2 I think) on the PS2 I believe that has simultaneous 2 player action. I would also agree with Time Crisis 2 & 3 and probably Crisis Zone (I'm finally gonna play it myself this weekend) being standouts. What really bothers me is that stupid Sega never released Virtua Cop 3 for any console..and I though that it would at least be released on the Xbox, but no. Shame really, as from what I played of it I really liked it :(

time crisis 2. best game ON the ps2, let alone the best gun game :).

ninja assault ain't bad either, but it's more fun on 2 player, time crisis 2 is good as a single or multiplayer if you've got a big enough desplay for the splitscreen, ninja assault has no splitscreen, so it's more fun 2 player :)

Yeah I liked Vampire Night a lot. The game just seemed to have a better story and they is something that light gun games need more of.

I've been playing nothing but Time Crisis 3 (and a bit of Guitar Hero) for the last week. I've had it for a while and I've always enjoyed it. It wasn't until this week that I bothered exploring some of the unlocked modes since I mainly just played the arcade mode. I sometimes like to start the game as the 2nd player to make the arcade mode a little different.

In the unlockable Rescue Mission mode, there are a few fun sniper levels. I only finished Rescue Mission mode yesterday and have a good start into the Crisis Mission mode (which I've also been enjoying quite a bit). I really need to set things up to give the system link mode a whirl sometime.

I really ought to pick up Time Crisis 2 sometime. I came across the box for one this weekend at a game store but sadly, it was empty.

i've played a good number of light gun games, and id say my favorites were among the following:

original virtua cop
time crisis 2
time crisis 3
time crisis: crisis zone (this one is alright)
ninja assault
point blank series

resident evil: dead aim was alright, but it -really- is a different, and can get frustrating, type of light gun game. i've yet to try out vampire night still. mebbe i should finally get my own copy sometime this weekend. ^^

house of the dead is pretty good too, tho i liked the typing of the dead version more myself.

of suggestions, definitely time crisis 3, then time crisis 2 after that (although both of them are really good equally).

Does the Time Crisis series for PS2 feature the foot pedal?

I too am looking for a gun game.

I was thinking about getting a gun for either DC or PS2. Which would be the better purchase? House of the Dead looks interesting because I hate zombies and want to kill them. :) Actually I like zombies and want to kill them.

I'm pretty sure you can buy a foot pedal for it, but I dont have one. I should probably look into that.

Time Crisis did seem to float to the top when I was looking around. I may try that one out. Anyone here ever used the LCD Top gun with the PS2?

Just remembered, Police 24/7 is also a pretty OK light-gun game. You can even use a webcam so you can dodge by actually moving you body instead of pressing a button...
