View Full Version : UK Bargains thread

I realise that this is, primarily, a forum for US gamers. And I certainly don't want to annoy anyone. That said, I was hoping that this thread would allow all UK gamers - who find a bargain worth sharing - to share said bargain with other UK gamers.
I think this would work best if they can be ordered online, but if you find a great price in-store, quite often others will find this price in their local store, too.
Why am I doing this? Well, I - for one - read other bargain threads. I am constantly on the look out for my own bargains, and I am always happy to share what I find with others. I look for my friends, so why don't I look for my fellow DPers too? And if you guys return the favour, then that is awesome.
Maybe this thread will turn out to be a thread comprised soley of my posts - but so be it, it was worth a shot. But hopefully it will still be worth bookmarking this thread to keep an eye on it.
I'm sure something similar to this has been attempted before on DP - and suffered an untimely death - but I'm willing to give it another go.
So here goes!
--
Locomotion (Chris Sawyer's) PC - Gamestation (http://www.gamestation.co.uk/product.asp?id=101261822960764) - £2.99.
Metal Slug 3 Xbox - Gamestation (http://www.gamestation.co.uk/product.asp?id=101210897161211) - £2.99 (since sold out, great bargain!)
Not used, this is new. I can vouch for this as I received my copy today.

Even though I'm not going to be in the UK after Sunday, I frequently see deals on ebay and if I see anything I'll post it here.

That's the spirit. As I said, I'll be posting everything I consider good value here. I hope this turns out to be a thread we all look to for a bargain - can't see why it shouldn't.

at www.neo-geo.com, in the forum section under the catagory "Selling", there is a topic called "Fully colonized MVS Systems" - I would have linked you, but on my browser it wont give me the URL.
Anyway, this guy is building and selling custom MVS systems for home use, they look really nice. There are two versions he's making single slot ond double slot. He's made custom shells/cases with the works.
He also posts to America, but primarily this is a UK think. He also said something about doing custom artwork on the system.

I spotted a Japanese version of this book on eBay months back, and I was jealous as hell. I never expected it to make it to the UK. Well, it did, and it slipped me by as well. It has only been on there for a few months, but I should have known about it. 15 pounds for 300 pages. Any RE fan would do well to buy this, I suspect.

Ridger Racer for Nintendo DS is £16.99 on BlahDVD (http://www.blahdvd.com/blah/Games_Product.aspx?productid=GAMES-NIN46216-H2&Platform=&StuffSection=). Not amazingly cheap, by any means, but it was the US version (with the nice US box), which sweetens the deal.
And Play.com have an Easter sale on (http://play.com/play247.asp?page=playsalegames&r=PS2&pa=sale). I picked up Virtua Tennis for PSP for just 14.99 (I think it has been that cheap on Play for a while now, though).

Please see my post in the Tetris DS thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=953370#953370) for a great price on Tetris DS. The eBayer ships from the UK, and I got my copy on Saturday. I think if you mention me, you'll get something of a discount.
Edit: And Yoshi Touch & Go is £20 shipped on Amazon. Not a great price, but the cheapest I have seen it. I got it while it was still in stock, there is a wait now.

I ordered Wario Land 4 (GBA) from BlahDVD last night for £14.99. They've shipped it, and they've charged me that price - but the game has now disappeared from their web site. If you keep an eye on PriceTracker (http://www.pricetracker.co.uk/compare-prices/101492/), you can see if the game returns.
£14.99 is a steal!
Edit: I rather cheekily got the last copy, it would seem :D

The Urbz on Nintendo DS.

Killer 7 on PlayStation 2.
Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones on Xbox (hopefully this isn't a Classics range re-release).

ta for the link enixis, i have been wanting to try that game for a while.
on the bargain front i picked up disgaea for 12 pound today, which isnt too bad considering ebay prices. the pricing in game is around 10-15 for most pre owned ps2 games, so if you can spot a gem in there odds are it wont be too much (it wont be ultra cheap either tho).

Some bargains, then... apologies for not updating this thread much recently. I've spent most of my money on a new widescreen monitor and an Xbox 360.
Game have Psychonauts (http://shop.game.net/ViewProduct.aspx?cat=10131&mid=327304) going for £12.97 on Xbox. Fairly cheap on PC and PS2 as well.
I also got Pariah for £1.99 (http://shop.game.net/ViewProduct.aspx?cat=11142&mid=325138) on PC there, and Stolen on Xbox (http://shop.game.net/ViewProduct.aspx?cat=10145&mid=325830) for £2.98.
Game have a load more crappy games at prices that make them less crappy. Go check it out (http://shop.game.net/lowdown.aspx?lid=6095).
BlahDVD imported a new DS game... Guilty Gear DS (http://www.blahdvd.com/blah/Games_Product.aspx?productid=GAMES-MAJ01440-4Y&Platform=&StuffSection=). Just £24.99, which isn't too bad for an import that just came out Stateside. My copy will be here on Wednesday.
Table Tennis for Xbox 360 is also just £24.99 on BlahDVD (it comes out on Friday) and Condemned is £29.99.

If you pre-order Dead Rising over on Amazon UK, you may bag yourself a free Dead Rising faceplate in the process. I believe they only have around 500 of these, so get a wriggle on! I'm guessing pre-orders aren't looking too healthy at the moment...
I had to actually cancel my existing pre-order last night to qualify for this, so fingers crossed. But, as it turns out, it was actually worth cancelling - as the Limited Edition Steel Case version is no longer available, and they'd probably have cancelled the order anyway.
