The NES Zapper: Who Else Here Cheated?

Looking back to the days of Duck Hunt, Hogan's Alley, Gotcha, and other Zapper games, I can honestly say that I played those game dishonestly. :D I would actually sit about two feet from the screen and shoot the ducks, gangsters, and other targets easily. I tried to enjoy the game the right way, by sitting a good distance away, but I always lost. So, I just moved a little closer to the television, and then I became the best Zapper marksman in gaming history. LOL

Who else here cheated on the Zapper games? Honesty is encouraged. ;)

I agree it was very tempting, however there is a greater satisfaction with sitting far away and still plugging the bad guys.

Personally, I try and stay away from Gamesharks or God Codes. It ruins the game.

When i play Chiller i like to sit about 4 ft away from my TV so i can see where the targets are because they are so damn small but when i'm playing duck hunt i try to go back from the TV as far as i can because i do have good aim with a gun. (I know this because i shot 5/5 targets with a rifle at Lake Placid NY)

when i first started, yeah, i did. but now. as far back as possible (moved up from a b/w 13 inch to a 21 inch color. nothing but the best).

I'd just point the gun at the ceiling light and pull the trigger when a duck was on the screen.

I was the opposite. I used an extender cable and stood as far away as possible and drew from the hip. I got pretty good.
