I was at my local video game shop & saw the "Sega Mega Drive".

I'm thinking it's the adapter you use to play Master System games on your Genesis, but I'm not for sure about that since it was behind the counter and I didn't get to check it out. It did have the label "Sega Mega Drive" on the front.

Is that what the thing is? What's a good price for it?

Megadrive was the non-US brand name for the Genesis. I presume that the one you saw was probably a Japanese / Asian version, since it's unlikely that many European PAL consoles would find their way to the US, what with the voltage and tv format differences. I don't really know what the going price would be, but if it was not boxed I would say maybe $20? But somebody else could probably give you a better estimate on that.

I don't know...it looks too small to be a complete system. I took it as more of an attachment than a stand-alone system. They didn't have any wires (A/C, RF) or controllers with it either.

I'll just have to go back & ask them to see it & then I'll be able to tell more.

and oddly enough, when i was working in a game shop, we ended up with one or two PAL md systems, and i also saw a couple in a salvation army store here collecting dust not too long ago, lol...
