Big breakthru in the PSP hacking scene this week. A loader has just been released that lets you play 2.00 games on PSP's with 1.50 firmware. Before, if you wanted to play 2.00 games on your PSP, you had to upgrade your system and give up the great homebrew apps that are available on 1.50. Now this new loader lets you have the best of both worlds.

You'll have to rip your UMD to ISO format and replace some of the files on it (plus have a memory stick big enough to store the ISO on), but it works great when you have it all set up. Read about it here:

Just tested it with GTA and it runs perfectly. Haven't tried any other games, but I hear it'll run a bunch of others like SOCOM and the new Mega Man.

Yeah baby. Now if they'd just release more killer games for the system, we'd be all set.

Most homebrews and emulation are now playable on version 2.00 making this pointless, unless you just don't like the web browser and do not want it on your psp.

Most, but not all homebrew. About 25% is still not playable on 2.00 and up and a lot of the stuff that is playable is still buggy.

I'd take 1.50 over 2.00 any day.

Good mine's still at 1.50. I didn't know it was buggy at V2.00. Thanks for the advice though. The Web Browser is neat as I played around with it a bit on my friends V2.60 but I'd rather have non buggy emulation as thats really all I use my PSP for.

Actually, iso loaders don't work on anything higher than 1.5 either, so it's not pointless for the person looking for that type of action.

(I'm personally happy with my 2.0 PSP, since all I really want to play are NES games anyway and that emu works great).
