May it's just me but i though it be a great test of the Market place to compare how many points we owners have spent on the 360 so.

I myself have purchased 5000 points but what about the rest of you?

Is the ease of payment a dangerous thing? To be honest is was kind of shocked by my spending.

I've bought a whopping 1200 I believe. Yeah, I'm a cheap bastard.

Can't recall exactly, but its somewhere around 3200. I've refilled a couple of times. I never though I'd buy things like themes or pictures, but its so tempting sometimes when a really cool one comes along.

Pardon my ignorance, but these points you can both earn and buy, right? As in, these are the points I see mentioned people earn when they complete a certain goal in a game?

No, you can only buy them. The other points you're thinking of are from achievements in 360 games (Gamercard). They don't do anything.

I've bought 1,200 points so far. Marble Blast Ultra/Geometry Wars Evolved have been purchased, and I got Bankshot Billiards 2/Hexic HD for free. Not really anything else that costs points that interests me.

If anything that is my main complaint about the 360 it's the gamerpoints that you have to pay for,

I mean i understand the concept but it's just annoys the hell out of me.

still am eventually planning to buy one though,

it's all good.

You don't pay for Gamerpoints. You pay for Microsoft Points.

I think it would be a fine system if I could show some kind of restraint. I can't tell you how many stupid themes and gamer pictures I have bought. Total waste of money there. The games on the other hand, worth it if you ask me.

I've only bought games, never themes.

That's pretty much my policy. With the exception of the Penny-Arcade stuff.

I'm somewhere around 5,000. That might go up to about 8,000 in the next month or so. The only theme/pic pack I've purchased is the one for my beloved Denver Broncos, though I was incredibly saddened to see "EA Sports" plastered all over everything. It was a lesson I won't soon forget. Is there any word yet on how many points Street Fighter II is going to end up costing?

I still find it funny that PA actually had to buy their own stuff.

how much do these points cost? 5000 sounds a lot, but whats the actual dollar transition from that? (i dont have a 360, clearly)

Darren870

each point costs $.0125. There for 5000 would cost 62.50

In my opinion its worth it, I play all the games from time and time again and they are so much fun.

Uh. $0?

I'm pretty cheap. Figure later down the line Microsoft will just drop 10 Live Arcade games on a disc for $25 or something. Like years from now, I mean, I can wait.

You say that now but try saying that after spending 4 hours playing Marble Blast Ultra with Me, Meancode and Nympho.

I have 1,000 points to use now. I have used 800 points already.

I bought one 1,600 point card and I got a 200 point card with my Xbox Live Starter pack. (I already had Live service, but I had some gift certificates, so I figured I may as well spend the extra money $49.95 for one year compaired to $57.95 for starter pack - it was on sale, and add a year to my account) So, with my starter pack I got the 200 points and Bankshot Billards 2.

So, I have:

Hexic HD - Free with system
Bankshot Billards 2 - Free with starter pack
Marble Blast Ultra - 800 points - Easily worth 3200 points....800 was a deal for this gem.....
