I think not.

I'm thinking possible famiclones. I'm thinking no cartridge slot/memory stick/general expandability sucks. I'm thinking built-in screens are very cool, but at these relatively low prices one has to question the quality and durability of the display.
I'm thinking I still would rather have a GamePark32.

For 40 odd pounds, I'd rather have one of these (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pocket-Famicom-Play-your-NES-games-on-the-move_W0QQitemZ8263946725QQcategoryZ3617QQrdZ1QQcmd ZViewItem)

VGPocket 50 is absolute garbage. Avoid at all costs. The games are all original "clones" of various classic racing/shooting/etc. games. Basically an Action 52 cartridge with better hit detection and graphics. The shell and buttons are extremely cheap and the inherent design causes the buttons to get caught on the shell itself half the time making the games nearly unplayable.

Wait, are you saying it's NOT a Famiclone?

Why not make your own portable NES/SNES/Atari/Genesis/Whateveryouwantconsole?

Or why not get an N-gage and play literally thousands of Game Boy, Gameboy Colour, Game Gear, NES, and Master System games?
I was intrigued by the VG Pocket 50 when I saw it at an EBgames, but it looked really cheaply made.

Because the screen is so small my head starts hurting after 10 minutes.
The GP32 is much better and a lot cheaper than it used to be because of the GP2X coming out.

I have the VG Pocket. It does run via a NOAC, as far as I can tell, but doesn't have any commercially released NES games on it. They are all HK originals, youmight say. Some are fun for 10 seconds, and some will take you a couple days to beat. Many are extremely fun. Most of them are beatable, but the ending is usually just "VICTORY" on the screen, but not all games. Some of the games are actually very good. It is certainly worth the money...I've definitely spent tons of money on worse.
You may have seen the Senario 17 in one and the Senario 25 in one at Wal Mart. Many of these games are the same as the VG Pocket, but some are different. I would like to know who programmed these 70-100 games for these units so I could classify them better. The Senario games actually have a pause button, but the VG Pocket does not.
So, what is the Gamespower 50, just the PAL VG Pocket?
I'm interested ina list of games people get on each of these units....I'd like to see if some people got different games, as I've heard rumors of such.

Yeah, I can see the smaller screen being a problem for some folks. I like the small size of the Ngage QD and the screen doesn't bother me, but I haven't played it for more than two hours at a time.

Oy. Stonic there? Is this dedicated or Fami then? :-)

That brings up the question of how the VG Pocket maker is related to Senario. I think I always assumed the Senario units had Fami games in them, but now I may need to pick them up...

I think the VG Pocket has a company address on the box; perhaps that might be the start of a grand quest...

That's a bit odd, but no biggie -- no button, it just doesn't call the pause subroutine in the ROM(s).
So, what is the Gamespower 50, just the PAL VG Pocket?
It looks that way, but I'm not sure.

Aw, crap... Are you sure it's not just differences between the VG Mini (25 games), VG Pocket (50) and VG Pro (or Max?) (75)? I've only seen the VG Pocket so far...
I can try to get a game list eventually, but... No promises.
Also, what colors are out there? I saw white, black, pink and I think blue.

The NES console goes for nearly that much on eBay.
It's annoying for people like me who want to buy one.

It would rock if someone could dump these roms and run them in a NES emu, heh.
My VG Pocket is blue. I also have the Senario 25 in 1 and the 17 in one. I just beat a few more of the games on the 17 in one yesterday.

Hmmm...good point. I bet they'd be mum on the subject and when you ask the service rep would feign not understanding English (kidding).

What the? Where do I get the VG Pro/Max or whatever it's called? Argh...the plot thickens.
BTW, you may notice that some of the games listed on the side of the package of the VG Pocket are not even present in the system....I doubt some of them even exist, judging from the graphics...what a pirate thing to do, sheesh.
Oh, and another thing, if a list of these games are made, it should be noted that sometimes the name of the game in the menu is different than the title screen, if a title screen exists at all. Some might even be different than the packaging and/or manual (if there is a manual...some of these units never include them).
