No, it's not that one pirate system (although it could be directly related to it...); I'm talking about a company who, supposedly, manufacures many different accessories for some of the newer consoles [GBA, PS2, Xbox, etc.] and some pretty suspicious looking plug-in-play consoles. Here are my "questions":

1.)Here's the site, btw :): http://www.dreamgear.net/

2.) Are any of their products reliable? I bought one of their GBA radio's loose at video game x-change, and on the first day part of it broke and it had a loud buzzing sound. After trying it again, it seemed to work flawlessly.

...and the more important question...

3.) Is this a pirate company? I have heard a lot of things about a pirate console/company given this title, and have even seen a picture of a handheld with their name in it's title. Plus the fact that most of their own products have that distinct pirate look and name, leads me to believe that they're not all they're cracked-up too be...

thanx! :D

I remember seeing a ton of their PSX controllers at local Dollar Tree stores about a year and a half ago or so. Never bought one, and it seems like a lot of people who did just traded them into other stores, because I was seeing quite a few of them at GameStop/EB/GameCrazy/etc for a while.

well i sell a fair bit of there gear at my shop here in Australia
and in all honesty most of its cheap and pretty good, as an
avid 3rd party hater for most of my life id have to say there
products are usualy the least retuned for defects.

The One this that sells very well here is the NGC 64MB memory
card as its only $29.95AUD compared to the paltry 251 block
official card at $49.95AUD.

Can't answer the pirate question, but I can weigh in on how the quality issue. I picked up one of those "Dollar Tree specials" that DigitalSpace mentioned (although in my case it was at a Goodwill). It's a PS2 controller, and it isn't very good. The left analog stick gets stuck in the down position, and the R1 and R2 buttons sort of work, if you press them dead center with lots of force. It's not utter crap, but I don't think it was really worth the $6 I paid. Definitely don't plan to buy from Dream Gear again.
