I don't know if this has been talked about before, i am sure it has. but does everybody HATE the greatest hit cases for the PS2, X-Box and GameCube as much as me. I mean they look like crap when you have all your games together and you see that dam red, yellow and silver stripe. I will go out of my way not to buy a game in a greatest hit case. and it pisses me off that Fable Lost Chapters was only made in a greatest hit box.

I can't stand the stuff either. I just line them up on the shelf next to the non-greatest hits ones.

Also the XBox now has a line of "Best of Platinum Hits" that are $9.99. At this rate there'll soon be a "Very Best of the Best of the Greatest Platinum Player's Choice Hits" where the cover art will be reduced to a 64x32 pixel square. :P

its easy, just seperate the GH games from the rest of the collection

I wish I had thought about it earlier, but I really wish I had started collecting PS2 GH games right off the bat, especially with TRU's green tag and buy 2 get 1 free deals. Having a complete GH collection would probably look pretty neat on its own shelf, away from the non-GH games.

Plus, it's nice when a GH game actually offers additional material / newer revisions than the original game (such as Silent Hill 2, Devil May Cry 3, and Virtua Fighter 4)

Personally, I really dig the GameCube Player's Choice cases. I only have five, but I think they look smart - very smart. Though I don't like collecting Greatest Hits, for obvious collecting reasons.

i do not have a single game that was GH, PC, PH or whatever. i hate them all with a passion. of course the original versions sometimes are nigh-impossible to find. (some of the harder ones are SotN for PS, and Sonic mega collection for the GC).

I HATE the Xbox Platinum Hits cases. The plastic that the case is made out of is silver instead of the usual Xbox green. At least the cases are the same color on PS2 and GC.

I don't really mind the US ps2 greatest hits, as the covers and the disc itself are nearly identical except for the red background on where it says "playstation 2".

I do REALLY HATE however, the PAL ps2 platinum hits. 1/3 of front cover is covered with a silver boarder and the disc itself looks really cheaply made with the title of the game printed on top of it. No picture or artwork like in the original release.

The same goes for Gamecube games, i don't mind the US player's choice but i stay away from PAL player's choice.

If it means I get games cheaper, I'm all for it.

I really dislike these, too - especially the Xbox ones where the box is completely different (though I've seen exceptions to this, most recently with Mechassault 2). I'm the type of person who wouldn't be able to stand the idea of having one or two games on my shelf that threw off the consistency. What really sucks about that is that it leaves me unsure of what to do about GH-exclusive games I'd really like to have (VF4 Evolution and Fable: The Lost Chapters especially). I'm sure that at some point I'll think of a solution or just stop caring about consistency, but in the mean time it totally sucks ass.

can't do that sorry, there is something wrong with me that needs to keep all the games in alpha order. thanks for the idea though.
